Hello,
If you have an ecommerce site(s) using Genesis and a child theme, what plugin(s) are you using? How would you rate them? Is there a favorite?

I like WooCommerce.
It's free, it doesn't break my themes and as someone who's just putting a toe over the line from designer to developer, it's not hard to work with. I've tried two others: a free one that was supposed to be the be-all and end-all, but totally messed with my themes, and the one that became Cart66, which is now imho prohibitively expensive.
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've used Cart66 and WooCommerce. I think Cart66 is the simplest plugin for clients to use and it works well. It has most of the features needed for digital and tangible products. WooCommerce is also very good and has some extensions that make it work for special needs, such as tangible subscription products.
Both Cart66 and WooCommerce have good tech support and work with the most popular payment gateways, such as PayPal and Stripe. WooCommerce can quickly become outrageously expensive if you need several extensions to make it support what you need to do.
I would pick one over the other, depending on what is required by a particular project.
Hi, I have just upgraded to WooCommerce 2, and it is now not working with PayPal, I have support tickets in, but haven't heard back since they are swamped with tickets from the upgrade. My clients need working carts now, so I have come here looking for options.
Does Cart66 integrate well with Genesis? That is what I liked best about Woo. I can try it out, but really under the gun because of the upgrade issues, so any advice is most appreciated.

Easy Digital Downloads is great if you don't have a full blown eCommerce site and just want to sell some digital products.
Otherwise Woo Commerce.
Hi Brad, we need to sell tangible products. I love Woo Commerce, but right now I can't get it to process PayPal, so it is useless. Broke after the latest upgrade.
Just curious, I'm researching options and have been impressed with WooCommerce. Does anyone know if PayPal Feature is fixed now?

Hi Kent, yes! I got the issues resolved. The tech support team were great to work with. I got Paypal standard working, it was an issue with having two carts, one was a test cart and the order ids were getting doubled even thought they were in different WordPress installs. In the PayPal settings there is a place to set an invoice prefix, setting that will allow unique invoice numbers to be sent to PayPal. Paypal wouldn't process invoices with the same number. So that cleared up that issue, and the tech team were very helpful in explaining how that worked.
I also set up PayPal pro with a paid plugin. I was having trouble with messages regarding an "insecure form" That is normal behavior though, so even though a secure certificate isn't necessary it is a good idea so that the insecure warnings don't come up. So we got secure certificates, but were still getting warnings. I had to put https:// in the return url in the settings at PayPal account. That fixed it. But again there wasn't a clear instruction about setting that up, the instructions had the url as http:// not https and it is a critical detail
But overall I am really pleased with Woocommerce. If you get stuck on setting up PayPal, just post in this thread, I am subscribed to it so I can come back and answer questions.

Yes, it is impressive, I searched out other carts while waiting for the tech support to contact me about Paypal, nothing looked as good. I am really glad it all worked out.
I´m not had a WordPress e-commerce project yet, but i´m reading serious about and i would like to use Genesis Framework. At the moment i use OpenCart to make E-commerces projects to my clients. I´ve searching about the extensions and WooCommerce can be the best solution. Is the only one that have a such great documentations and support like here.
I have not found in others of list above Extensions like PagSeguro Brazil Gateway, Correios Shipping but in the WooCommerce have documentations and support about it, so i´m confident to try. If one day i need WordPress Ecommerce sure i will try WooCommerce + Genesis aplication.

I have a few clients using Genesis + Child or custom themes with the Shopp plug-in and I haven't had any problems. Support has been good for me.
I'm just starting to look at doing an e-commerce site as well. Sounds like WooCommerce is the way to go ... but does it work with all themes? In your experience, does it work better with some than others? Looking for feedback and examples, can you share your sites and which themes were used? Thanks!
I ended up going with WooCommerce and have been really happy so far. I was able to integrate it relatively easily with Genesis using the StudioPress plugin and there doesn't seem to any issues. I'm not 100% happy with some of the styling of the plugin with regards to the storefront, but that's an issue of my not knowing the CSS well enough to tweak it, not any failing of the plugin.

I don't want to revive a dead post (I understand a lot of people are against dead post revivals), however I don't see the need to open a new thread. So...
I see a number of questions about eCommerce plugins and Genesis. I see a number of answers, based on a range of experience, with multiple plugins. I myself have some experience with a number of eCommerce plugins as well, but all of my experience was prior to switching every website I manage, over to Genesis.
What I would like to see is an official response, from StudioPress Developers, about the best option, or at the very least, a response as to what they are using on http://my.studiopress.com/themes/ and why they chose to use that option.
