    Hi Folks,

we are planning to buy the Genesis framework & theme and book the WC3 Premium Service from Studiopress. Actually we are using a complete overloaded Gantry-Theme. Not the best choise.

Before we buy I thought I check the quality of the service with the Google PageSpeed Insights to test how Google "optimized" the pages really are.

Now I am little bit confused. After testing the company page (http://www.studiopress.com) and some of the offered themes I am not very exited about the results.

Google Pagespeed Insight rated the studiopress.com with 59 of 100 points, most of the offered themes between 50 and 55 points. Not the result I expected for a special for Google optimized framework / code and service. And not the results I expected for a webpage of a company which should have - lets say more then 99 out of 100 points. Just kidding... D

Now I am totaly unsure. The themes of Studiopress look all fantastic, the service and the advantages of the Genesis Framework sounds great. But the results of the Google PageSpeed Insight test...

Would be somebody so nice to share his experience about this issue with me? Or can offer an explanation why the results are so bad? I hope somebody can enlighten me, because I really like the themes & service.

    Thanks for taking time.

    Best, Peter

The strange thing is that I compared Studiopress' site (which scored 57 on google insights) with a site that scored 70. The Studiopress site loaded faster in the old fashioned browser test. But my experiment could have been flawed in some way.

Google insights gives reasons for why it gives the score it does. But you have to know what all of that stuff means. What you are seeking is reassurance and I would think that Genesis would not be such popular framework if it had serious problems with pagespeed.

That's my 2 cents but I know it's really not a satisfying answer. Hopefully someone will come along who can give a better explanation.

I've been using 'Metro' and got excellent results! My home page gave me 98/100 with Pingdom tools with a load time of 1.50 seconds and this is bearing in mind that I have a slideshow on the home page too!

Not sure if this helps 😉
