I moved my site from an early version of Focus to Enterprise so it would be mobile responsive. Everything went smoothly except I had one plugin that no longer functioned correctly. I displayed the information a different way and deleted the plugin. None of my shortcodes would work until I reinstalled and activated the plugin (WP UI - Tabs, accordions and more). I would like to remove the plugin that is no longer needed and it is obvious that the plugin isn't playing nicely.

Is there a tutorial that could help me debug the issue?

I've also considered just starting from a new install of WordPress and I the content back in. That way I could start from a clean install. I only have about 55 pages and no posts, but it would still take some time. How could I develop the new WordPress install at a different location and then replace the current site?

    Hi,

that´s not a good situation to be in...

If you keep your current installation you will have to go through your pages and either replace your shortcodes with new ones from a different plugin, custom code or delete the shortcodes.

If you want to start fresh you can create a subdomain or a new folder on your hosting account and install WordPress there. Make your adjustments on this new installation and when you are happy with your results, you can use plugins like Duplicator, Updraft Plus or Backup Buddy to make a copy/backup of it.
Then you would use the method of the plugin you have chosen to "restore" the copy onto your current website/website location.

Thanks for the info. It's a pain because the problem plugin isn't being used, but if I deactivate/remove the problem plugin two other plugins no longer work. Gives me whole new respect for keeping plugins to a minimum.

I will go ahead and replace the site with a new installation. I'm having some issues with another plugin - but I want to remove the bad one first since it might be the problem I will only uses current plugins that are highly rated in the new installation.

I didn't know about the plugins to help copying the site after I get the new installation the way I want. That will be a huge help. I really appreciate it.
