    Hi,

Is Author Pro capable of dealing with multiple authors?

I'm interested in using it to deal with a small publishing company, with a number of authors each with one or more books.

    Thanks

    Paul

It may be easier to see what the theme with the Genesis Author Pro plugin can do from the plugin description page.
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-author-pro/
You can see what info can be used on each book page and the list of archive pages included.

It creates a custom post type for books with taxonomy (like categories) for authors, book series, and tags. So yes, you can use it for multiple authors.

You can see an example of the included author page under the sample page. If you had a lot of authors, and you wanted their image, and other info included, you may want to create a different template for the author archive page, so that info is easier to post than using the archive page text box.

    I hope that helps.

    Marcy,

Thanks for your response. I'm still investigating if Genesis and Author Pro is what I need. I'm not a web developer and want to keep the solution quite simple by using a template like Author Pro.

We have a site that was created with Craft CMS by a web developer, but whilst the CMS seems powerful, its all totally hand crafted html and CSS, and I like the idea of something simpler to edit.

When you mention a different template, do you mean I need create something bespoke?

    Thanks
    Paul

If all you want on your author archive pages is a short bio, an image, and some links, and then, of course, all the books, then you can use the theme, as is.
Here is a post on how to add author images, and some links to the author archive pages.

If you wanted something more complex than that for your authors, then yes, you would need to have another template created. Templates are part of the files that make up the theme; they are used to call up the info from the database, so that you have the pages and layouts that you require.

It's probably best to just go ahead and try out the theme. When you purchase the theme there are detailed installation instructions, just follow them through. And be sure to install the demo content; that will help you.

    Marcy,

That looks great, I'll probably buy the theme over the weekend and start creating!

    Thanks for your helpful responses.
