    Greetings:

I need help with the Author Pro home pg widget "Front Page 2" which default displays 4 books, please.

I need to display 2 or 3 rows of four books. I assumed I could just 'stack/add another row of 4' but have discovered that's not so obvious. Basically I need to stack 1 or 2 more rows that hold 4.

When I add more 'Featured Books' widgets beyond 4, 6 book widgets becomes 3 rows of 2 books (enlarged); 7 book widgets become 3 rows of 2 + 1 row of 1. I didn't see any other options.

**Curious: What are other people doing on 'Front Page Section 2' who have more than 4 books to display, if the original row display or 4 cannot be stacked to accommodate? Is there another or better way to display more books?

**and wondering: Is there such a thing as a sideways scroller that would be compatible with the 'Front Page Section 2' Featured Book widgets? Surely other authors have more than 4 books. I wasn't able to find any illustrations after hours searching online and on the Studiopress Forum pages. Has anyone ever seen another technique??

(Apologies, if I get an answer that's too technical or consists of 2 or 3 insider terms like 'get-put' and 'hook'; I'll be lost. It would be so helpful to get instructions that I can follow; I would be so grateful for something at my level that I can put to use right away.)

    Thank you very much!

You should be able to use CSS to display any amount of widgets inline.

There are several ways you could do it, display:grid; being the best in my opinion. https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_grid.asp

Brad - I wonder if that answer applies here. I tried hard to explain it specifically in detail, but without looking, others may not know what I mean.

The particular Home Page Section 2 in question in Author Pro is pre-formed for four Featured Book widgets that are uniquely made for that section. I want additional specific Featured Book widgets to lay out into two and eventually three rows of four books, stacked. I don't see how to put a grid in there compatible with using those specific Featured Book widgets (that list out numerous options) to 'fit into' a new grids. I've used the genesis grids/columns plugin before in the coding and know the basics. But this seems trickier. Ordinary text blocks won't work.

You could remove the flexible-widgets class from the front page 2 widget area in the front page template and use CSS Grid. This would enable you to add unlimited page widgets in any amount of columns and rows to 1 widget area.

There are many ways to do this however, this is the first method i would try.

OK, let me see if I got that even somewhat.

Would I be able to use the Featured Page widgets in the widgets page, or once I remove the flexible-widgets class and add a css grid for the layout I want, then everything I do in that section from that point forward must be done via editing the code in the front page template?

If possible, I would like to keep the convenient Featured Page widgets for Home Page Section 2, currently accessible from the widgets page.

No, you can use the featured page widget once the coding is done.
