    Hi,
I'm using Magazine Pro theme and have Genesis Featured Posts set up in the Home-Top widget area. I like to customize the "teaser" for each blog post and lead the reader to the full story with a "read more" link.

If I set it up the "Content type" as "Show content," with the idea that I break the content using the <!-- more --> tag, the content breaks properly on the home page, but the author box shows up below the post on the home page (I'd rather the author box show only on the single post page, not on the home page).

If I use "Show content limit," the author box does not appear on the home page, but then I have to go back into the widget's settings and change the character Iimit every time I write a new post.

If I use "Show the excerpt," the excerpt shows but there is no "read more" link -- I have to hope the reader will click on the featured image or title.

Is there any way to suppress the author box on the home page while using the <!-- more --> tag in conjunction with "Show content" in that widget? Or display the "read more" link with "Show the excerpt"?

    Thank you.

OK, so I added the code found here to functions.php

How to Customize the WordPress Read More Link

And am now able to write custom excerpts and have the "read more" link generated on the home page. Thank you, Ren!
