I did this modification of eleven40 for a client.  She wanted colour coding of the main categories.  Hope you like.

    Its nice.

A little busy I think. Some of the things you might want to look into is the use or overuse I should say of the social widgets. On the posts there are 2 widgets side by side not only is that redundant it causes a slow down in the page load which is never good. It also cause the page to creep down whilst I' already reading end user having to click on an image.

I also think that you should use the more tag that says more. Instead of using the image as a link.

I can certainly tell allot of work went into it

Much of what is on the screen is client request.  But I think I will change it so that the social media widgets appear only when necessary so thank you for that feedback.  On narrower screens the floating bar does not appear, so I can make the top /bottom ones disappear on wider screens so they are not both there.

The more tag isn't an image, it is a link.  Thank you for looking.

    Hi Elizabeth,

It's a nice site. Great Job.  My only suggestion would be to increase the h2 header size - especially on the home page.  I'm talking about "Your Brand", "Your People", etc.  The text is way too small.

    Here's a great article from Rafal: http://rafaltomal.com/3-examples-of-css-typography-to-use-for-your-blog/

Lucas - I think you are right about the H2 size.  it would look better bigger - and thanks for the link.   I'll ask the client if she'll allow me to increase the size of  H2.

The creeping "share me" area at the top does become a little annoying. There is likely a better position for it.

Why do you say it is "creeping".  It stays put doesn't it?

OK - have changed the social media widgets to only show either at the top and bottom of posts or at the side, and have made the H2s on the home page bigger.

I love this site, it looks so smooth (actually apart from the 'twitter/facebook/linked in links which take up a little too much space).  I'm really impressed with your "search results" page.  I want to create one just like that with the images and the "more" link.  My search page has no images and also it says "Older posts" at the bottom when I really want it to say "older news" or "other" or something more meaningful.  Would you be able to assist a little?

The social media icons are necessary.

Which theme are you using? And can you show me the site?

Elizabeth, are you available for hire?

    I run this site http://www.rogerlapin.co.uk and a blog with Eleven40 here http://www.rogerlapin.co.uk/blog

I want to transform the entire site over to Genesis and like the look of what you have done for this client, I would like to seek your advice on how you could transform my site?

    Thankyou

    Roger

    Hi Roger

Yes I am available for hire.  I did that site the way the client wanted so I can do the same for you. That is my bespoke service.  But I also offer two other ways of getting a site from me. Which you choose depends on your particular circumstances.

If you'd like to hear about it please reply to my email which I'll send to you at the address on your site.

    regards

    Liz

I would have add a border around the slider so to recall the other images.
