Does anyone have experience with AMPPS? I've been using it for 6 months and really like it, but it's been frustrating since the last update because it won't actually update.

Every time I open it, it says there's an update available. But when I click "Yes" to update it, it doesn't, and the message keeps popping up.

I was going to just uninstall and reinstall, but it would be such a pain to move all of the child themes that are in the local AMPPS folder. Anyone else have this issue?

    Hi,
I was surprised to see an AMPPS question here. 🙂 But I use it and like it. It can be tricky to update. I had trouble one time, and the next time it was smooth.

It's very unlikely I can offer a fix, as people's setups are never the same. I can point you to general advice, though.

To ask specific questions, here's the forum:

This is good, and I recommend paying particular attention to the "Taking Backup" part (which I didn't do during the problem upgrade):

You can also download the install and run it instead of trying the update the software offers you.

Finally, if you're worried about blasting your system, you can back up the whole folder first and do your install or upgrade. Yes, it will be pretty big.

    Good luck,
    Dave

Ah, I didn't even realize there was a forum. I'll go check all this out.

    Thanks Dave!

    Christina,
Glad to have helped. AMPPS is a very nice system, allowing lots of software to be easily installed. On the forum there are usually some helpful ideas.

    Ciao,
    Dave
