I changed the height of section 1 of the Altitude theme and now section 1 loads jerkily. (Not sure how else to describe it.) Any ideas on how to make it load smoothly? I can provide my CSS changes.

Hi,

if you only changed the height in CSS, you are fighting with the JavaScript in home.js.
The jerking is the CSS being overwritten by the JavaScript.
