Can someone give me an idea as to why the loading speed on my home screen is so slow?

I converted all the CSS to SASS. This is the first time I've done that. I'm not sure if it may be involved.

    Hi,

    seems to be loading ok.
Google Pagespeed recommends to optimize images.
    The background_desert.jpg is 1.6 mb...
Bluehost seems a bit slow in responding...

    Thank you, Christoph.

You learn something new everyday. I should've known about optimizing my images and thank you for introducing me to tools.pingdom.com.
