was perfect until wp 4.2.3 auto installed itself. I tried reinstalling altitude pro - nothing. My changes to the CSS were minimal (pretty much only colors) minimal plugins and only Genesis, yoast seo, and sucuri security - and I've turned them all off and on to see if it is a plugin issue) but when you visit the site in certain sections some text is automatically displaying as buttons as well as empty spaces, and the simple social icons are showing very strange as well. I need this fixed like asap. I've tried everything I can think of. I really need some help. I did submit to the support team but it says 24-48 hours and if my client sees this, she may have a canary and a cow at the same time - she's a little bit high anxiety ridden.... So if anyone has any suggestions, I'm desperate and will try anything.

    Hi,

well, the update really affected some websites badly.

In your case it is not happy with the shortcodes in [ ] brackets. ( [video_lightbox_youtube )
    https://make.wordpress.org/core/2015/07/23/changes-to-the-shortcode-api/

It is possible that WordPress will release an update that handles the [ ] better again.

If you are using a plugin for the short codes, ask the developer for an update.
Other than that you can either try to re-write the shortcodes in a way that WordPress accepts them or remove them from the website for now.

The simple social icons plugin is affected by WordPress breaking up the [ ] from the previous shortcode.
