Hi everyone, I know that I am not raising a new question here, but I would still be interested if Studiopress intends to update the Agentpress theme to be mobile responsive.
I have 20% of my visitors coming from mobile devices, if I can't get my agentpress to become mobile friendly, I will kick it out of the window together with the genesis framework as a whole, as it appears the studiopress isn't too interested in new technologies..
This isn't a flame, but I am getting frustrated: I paid a lot of money for the framework and the theme. I can find stand-alone, professionally designed and architecured themes on http://themeforest.net/ for less or the same, fully mobile responsive.
I appreciate the studiopress has a lot of work to do, but I am asking for something that is a defacto web standard in 2013, and I was hoping the studiopress team would pick up this ball...
Also, on a side note: some of the studiopress themes that claim to be responsive are NOT fully responsive, especially when it comes to the way top navigation is handled...
Thanks for your thoughts. An unhappy customer.
March 23, 2013 at 6:13 am #30641AnitaCKeymaster@cheapdealhotels, I am a volunteer on the board and not an employee of the SP. While I can certainly understand your frustration, everything comes in time. As a matter of fact, they are having an Agentpress Conference right now. It's not something that they can just whip out on a whim. Everything needs to be considered, not just making the theme responsive, but how all of the plugins will be responsive too - even how third-party plugins will work. So it's a step-by-step process to make sure they work out the kinks. They have a lot of themes and other technology they are working on.
With that said, when you purchased Agentpress at the time - you were completely happy with the product you purchased - it worked fine. Now your needs have grown and you want your product to work in a certain fashion. Making threats to get rid of the platform all together... well, that's just not cool. But if you choose to do that - that's your choice.
But... I offer you this. The AgentPress Plugin works with any Responsive Theme that SP currently offers. Did you know that? Here’s one for you. They are using the Minimum Theme – http://www.hellerusa.com/. The Education Theme is Responsive and you can use the Agentpress Plugin to work with that one. Here is an example of that - http://www.wesellsarasota.com/. So you don't need to just use the Agentpress Theme with the plugin.
Go here - http://my.studiopress.com/themes/ - under Filter Features on the Right, click the down arrow under Theme Features and select Responsive. The plugin will work with any of those themes.
I hope this changes your mind and lessens your frustrations.

March 23, 2013 at 9:35 am #30686tejonesMemberYou answered a question of mine. Indeed, there is a need for this theme to be responsive. I'm glad StudioPress is considering this. I had not thought about the plugins in this manner.
Definitely, if you start from the beginning, at this time, you can choose one of the many responsive themes already available from StudioPress. I have a client on Agent Press and, being responsive, is something I want to be a change in the future.
I look forward to that update!

http://www.grafixcatmedia.comMarch 26, 2013 at 7:24 am #31293cheapdealhotelsMember@anitac thanks for taking the time to reply to this thread, even though you just a volunteer on the forums and I would have wished to have some answer from a studiopress employee (I guess they're busy in the agentpress conference to answer my question...)
I know that when I bought the theme responsive themes were a new thing (actually they weren't). The theme is nearly 2 years old and studiopress is making a lot of money off these themes and the framework. My comment is simply that we seem to be frozen in time here. Instead of beating out new themes, maybe they should also allocate some funds for bug fixes and feature requests for their existing themes.
I have a designer who can make the Agentpress theme fully responsive for less than 500 USD. Therefore, it's really not so much about the plugins etc, as it's really just about the CSS and how smart you are using it...
Go here – http://my.studiopress.com/themes/ – under Filter Features on the Right, click the down arrow under Theme Features and select Responsive. The plugin will work with any of those themes.
Thanks for that, but Agentpress is not listed as a responsive theme (hence my post!) so this doesn't get me anywhere, really...
Anyway, I appreciate your efforts to help but if you consider what you can get out there for the price of Genesis + 1 theme, it's really worth considering purchasing a different theme solution..
Maybe a studiopress employee can provide a response after the (hopefully fruitful!) Agentpress conference...
Cheers!

I'm not a StudioPress employee either, but when I asked the question about a date for it to become Responsive, they indicated there was currently no scheduled date. (I asked last week when I first saw your post - maybe something changed during the conference.
As Anita has indicated, this is a community forum, and while it is monitored by StudioPress employees, there is no expectation that any threads will be answered by a SP employee. If you wish to address your concerns directly to StudioPress, you could go ahead and submit a support ticket.
March 26, 2013 at 7:33 am #31298cheapdealhotelsMemberThanks Susan,
appreciate that! I'll post the outcome of the ticket here so everyone knows how this story ended (or didn't)...
BTW, the first time I saw this question asked is over a year ago 😉
March 26, 2013 at 7:40 am #31299Andrea RennickMemberIt is on our list, and it will be done at some point.
The theme was created back before responsiveness was a new standard. We will get to it, and you are entitled to the update when it does become responsive. We do not have a timeline for it however. I can't say that it will be done by X date.
Trust me - I answer this question almost daily in the help desk. 🙂 There's a huge list of themes to work on.
You are also free to use a plugin to handle the mobile aspect.
p.s. - The Agentpress conference has very little to do with the current theme. Also the conference was two days, so it's over. 🙂
p.p.s - Anita meant the Listings plugin can be used with any theme, including the responsive ones. 😉

March 26, 2013 at 7:51 am #31305cheapdealhotelsMemberThanks Andrea, I know it's not your fault this has not been tackled. And I asssumed studiopress wasn't holding a conference around the theme, that was a joke.. 😉
Anway, good to know nothing has changed since a thread I saw around a year ago..
March 27, 2013 at 10:25 pm #31667kayacheMemberHere is why this is frustrating; most people searching for a responsive theme can already realistically choose between several existing responsive themes that will work fine for their needs. And every month the new responsive them that comes out just gives them yet one more option to choose from.
But real estate agents like me have this one single theme, Agentpress, to use (without having to customize one of the other themes as mentioned). So it is pretty depressing to see, month after month, yet one more responsive theme as an additional option for those that already have several that they can realistically choose from.
I bet five bucks that users of the next new responsive theme already have at least one existing viable option for a responsive theme. But us poor agentpress users continue to have to wait. how does this make sense?
March 28, 2013 at 10:21 am #31776SusanModerator@Kayache - your best option at this point to voice a complaint is to contact StudioPress directly through the contact form - the key decision makers about such decisions aren't here on the boards on a regular basis. I hear your frustration, but the forum cannot provide any clearer answer than has already been provided in this thread.
