Tagged: Agency Theme
I just tried to update my v 1.0 agency theme to the new version and it would not allow me because of a conflict with folder name.
Question: How do I update Agency 1.0 to the new Agency Theme 2.0?
Destination folder already exists. /home1/axcesspr/public_html/wp-content/themes/agency/
Theme install failed.
Please see error message above that is generated after I try and upload the new Agency Theme.
Brad which folder are you referring to?
There are several folders involved
Thanks for the feedback
The Agency theme folder name.
rename agency to something else.
I thank you so much for your help....
Do I change the existing Agency theme name (v1) before I upload the new Agency theme (v2)?
You should be ok by just renaming Agency theme V2, or you could revert to another theme(2013) and delete Agency V1 , then upload version 2
life’s tough, it’s a lot tougher if you’re stupid
Just make sure they have different file names.
You could also change the name in the child themes style.css file like this:
/* Theme Name: Second Agency Child Theme Theme URI: http://www.studiopress.com/themes/agency/ Description: Agency is a two or three column child theme created for the Genesis Framework. Author: StudioPress Author URI: http://www.studiopress.com/ */
That way you will know which theme is different in the backend under Appearance > Themes
