    I am running my blog on the Metro theme and I'm looking at adding a small shop.

    I really like the theme but I don't think it's designed for eCommerce. I'm trying to figure out if I need to switch themes or if I could use an eCommerce theme on a separate url such as shop.sitename.com

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    Look at Cart66 - it integrates easily with any theme. You can just drop products into pages and/or posts with shortcodes.
