Academy Pro: remove featured image from individual posts (not anything else)

Hi.

I'm trying to alter the functions.php file to remove the featured image display on the single blog posts, but not the blog page or anything else.

In other words, if I wanted to have a featured image for the blog page snippet, archives etc, how would I filter it out or keep the featured image from displaying on single posts like this:

Sometimes you need to put the most focus on this…

Also, not sure if this is common, but when I first made this post, it had no featured image selected, but when I added an image to the very beginning of the post, it created a featured image automatically, and now when I remove it from the post, it maintains the image (even when nothing is selected specifically as the featured image).
