Thank you both!
On my computer (google chrome for mac) for screen width set at 874px and above the media query is not executing, even though it should be executing below 970px width.
Inside of inspector the regular rules are applying to the divs above 874px widths even though the media queries should be applying. Is that not happening in your browser?
Thanks!

I haven't figured it out. Here's a screenshot from my phone. This one has me stumped.
Thanks,
Jay
jgkMemberThanks Lauren,
I've added this to my functions.php code:
global $wp_query;
$object = $wp_query->get_queried_object();
$parent_id = $object->post_parent;
$depth = 0;
while ($parent_id > 0) {
$page = get_page($parent_id);
$parent_id = $page->post_parent;
$depth++;
}add_action( 'genesis_before', 'conditional_remove_genesis_breadcrumbs' );
function conditional_remove_genesis_breadcrumbs() {
if ( is_page && $depth > 2 ) {
remove_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'genesis_do_breadcrumbs' );
}
}but it isn't doing the trick. Any thoughts?
Thanks so much!

jgkMemberHi Anitac,
That worked! Thanks so much!

jgkMemberHi Tony,
That worked, thanks so much!
Those <p>'s are being added by genesis or genesis simple edits for some reason, don't know why.
Cheers,
Jay
November 14, 2013 at 8:39 am in reply to: Making header image responsive — some simple css help: #72935jgkMemberHi Jamie,
For each of the "break points" on your media queries in the css (which occur at the bottom of the CSS) you're going to want to change the below:
.home-top {
background-image: url(images/home-top.jpg);
}to other images that are the proper size.
If you look at the code for some of the elements on the page that are responsive in developer tools you'll see the media queries applying to the elements when you shrink and grow the width of the browser window. Hope this helps.

jgkMemberHi Susan, Thanks.
Unfortunately it doesn't work in ie8: the element moves instantaneously (so it looks like it's disappearing) but doesn't slide up.
Thanks for escalating this!
Jay
jgkMemberThanks again Brad! That worked.

jgkMemberI have mysite.com/blog/ & mysite.com/blog/a-single-post/
mysite.com/blog/ shows small excerpts and several posts.
I'd prefer to only show the sharedaddy sharing buttons below the post excerpt only. Right now its showing above the excerpt and below the excerpt.
but on mysite.com/blog/a-single-post/
I'd like the sharedaddy sharing buttons to still be at the top of the post (as they are) and below the post (as they are). No change necessary.Thanks so much brad. I couldn't find any instructions for this.
as you can see here:
http://studioissa.com/blog/
having sharing buttons before and after the rather short excerpts is excessive & a bit spammy.jgkMemberThe fix was:
I had selected a static blog page under Settings > Reading instead of using the blog page template included with Genesis.
Under Settings > Reading, make sure a static page is not selected for the blog, then create a page and assign the blog page template to it from the template dropdown on the right hand side of the editor.
jgkMemberThanks Brad,
For some reason it's still not working. I've kicked this over to studiopress tech support incase something is going wrong under the hood. Since this doesn't seem to be an easy fix.
Thank you. Cheers,
Jay
jgkMemberThank you Brad!
I followed your instructions. When I click preview changes from the blog page it displays content-sidebar, but when I view the live page it seems to still display full width content. I've cleared my cache and the wpengine cache, this doesn't seem to be making a difference.
Anything else to try? Also the breadcrumbs on the preview says home / home if that offers any clues. Thanks!
Jay
jgkMemberHi Jan,
This solved the issue. Thanks so much!

jgkMemberHi Tony,
Thanks so much for fixing the link issue on the header!
Does anyone else know how to add links in the header in genesis around the title-- since you can't edit the theme files?
Or can show me a link pointing in the right direction?
Thank you!
Jay
jgkMemberThanks so much! That fixed it.
jgkMemberHi Chris,
Thanks for looking at it!
No, I haven't removed the arrow. It's working for me in chrome for mac, safari, safari for iphone and firefox for mac. (Although iphone css needs a little tweak.)
Here is what I'm seeing in firefox.
I know the css3 animation won't work in older browsers but I'm surprised the arrow isn't showing up at all.
What browser and os are you using? Thanks again for checking it out.
Jay
