I guess I am figuring this out myself 🙂 I added `background-color: transparent;
border: none;` and it works.
Angela
SimplyAAMemberI got it centered by adding this
margin: 0 auto;
. But how can I get the background to match the rest of the site?
Angela
SimplyAAMemberThat worked perfectly! Thanks so much.

SimplyAAMemberHi, one more question on this: I wanted to switch to 4 across, rather than only 3 across. I thought I could just adjust it to this. It works except there the middle 2 images have no padding:
Featured Pages instead of Featured Posts in Modern Portfolio --------------------------------------------------------------- */ #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+0), #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+1), #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+2), #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+3) { width: 22.50%; /* 320px / 1080px */ } #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+1), #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+2), #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+3){ float: left; } #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+0) { float: right; } #blog .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+1) { margin-right: 5.555555555%; /* 60px / 1080px */ } .mp-home #blog .featuredpage { margin-bottom: 48px; margin-bottom: 3rem; } #blog .featuredpage .entry { margin-bottom: 0; } #blog h2 { font-size: 40px; font-size: 2.5rem; } @media only screen and (max-width: 532px) { #portfolio .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+0), #portfolio .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+1), #portfolio .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+2), #portfolio .featuredpage:nth-of-type(4n+3) { width: 100%; } }
Angela
SimplyAAMemberThanks! Worked perfectly.
Angela
SimplyAAMemberYes, sorry. I should have posted it here. I couldn't find the padding but found it. Thank you.
Angela
SimplyAAMemberThis worked perfectly. Thank you so very much! I spent hours searching for something like this yesterday. Thanks again.
Angela
SimplyAAMemberAndrea, you are wonderful! Thanks so much. It worked perfectly.
Angela

SimplyAAMemberHi and thanks for responding. On the Modern Portfolio theme on Studio Press here: http://my.studiopress.com/themes/modern-portfolio/#demo-full you will see the black section goes all the way to the left and right of the screen.
But on mine, here: the purple stops just a few pixel at the left and right so there is white showing: http://angelaandrews.me
I must have changed something inadvertently but can't figure out what.
Angela
SimplyAAMemberI just figured it out: I needed to change my hook from:
genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap
to:
genesis_after_headerThanks for your help.
Angela
SimplyAAMemberI've added a widget (different than above)
// Register About Page Intro widget genesis_register_sidebar( array( 'id' => 'about-intro', 'name' => __( 'About Intro', 'mp' ), 'description' => __( 'This is the intro section of about page.', 'mp' ), ) ); // Hook about intro to about page only add_action( 'genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap', 'about_intro', 9 ); function about_intro() { if ( is_page('about-angela') && is_active_sidebar( 'about-intro' ) ) { echo '<div class="about-intro"><div class="wrap">'; dynamic_sidebar( 'about-intro' ); echo '</div></div>'; } }
It seems to work okay except it's not going all the way across the page like I want it. It should look like the home page one here: http://angelaandrews.me/. Do you know how I can get to go across full length of the page?
Angela
SimplyAAMemberIf that would be easiest. How can I lit the widget to a specific page?
Angela
SimplyAAMemberThank you for very much for you help. It worked great!
Angela
SimplyAAMemberThanks for the response. I took off the added margin of 20px and the sidebar fits now. Thanks!
I would like to just remove the large background image on mobile devices and have tried adding a few things but nothing worked. Do you know how to take the image off for mobile devices and just have a color?
I tried:
in this section of CSS @media only screen and (max-width: 800px) I tried:
body {
background-image: none;
background-color: red;
}but it didn't work.

SimplyAAMemberI have no idea why this particular page wouldn't work. To resolve, I used the 1test page mentioned above. I put the blog page to trash use dthe 1test page as my new blog and all is well. Would still like to know why it woulnd't work but I found a workaround.
Angela
SimplyAAMemberCan anyone help with this question? I cannot get sidebar to display on my blog page here: http://freespiritwebsites.com/blog/
Angela
SimplyAAMemberWell, that's strange. I made no changes and there is not any sidebars on any of my pages except this one: http://freespiritwebsites.com/1test/.
I am trying to get sidebars on this page: http://freespiritwebsites.com/blog/
Angela
SimplyAAMemberI could not find a way to do this but I was able to use the Nivo Slider and it worked. You use a shortcode to put on any page.
