No , I want to use the style of the primary but I want it in the below position where the secondary nav is , so im thinking of swopping positions instead of styling the secondary nav. What would be best ? I have no idea how to style the nav bar but I am sure it cant be that different from styling the widget area or page etc.
faiekgMemberThanks , That helped 100 % !!!
faiekgMemberYes I thought of that , my only small problem is that I used that sidebar elsewhere and I don't want the padding applied on the other pages sidebar areas as well. I am sure there is a simple way to isolate the home widget like a .home sidebar-primary widget but I cant find it yet , just need to look closer.
faiekgMemberYou will see on the front page I hooked in a pic , I want that pic to be lower by 150px. ie in the centre a little more. The alternative I was thinking about is to use the sidebar primary widget and add the padding in the css. The problem is them that it will be added to all the pages.
faiekgMemberHello ,
Thanks , I read through some of the content but I am not sure yet how to do what I need to. Basically I used a hook to display a pic of my front page but I need that pic (hook) lower down. I assume I would need to add padding but I am not sure where.
The hook I used is genesis_sidebar Hook
faiekgMemberYes , lesson learnt over and over. insert giant face plant here !! lol , thanks again
faiekgMemberOh man crap , I really need to pay closer attention !! Thanks !! Fantastic stuff !! Worked like a charm !!
faiekgMemberThanks , did not work , checked and double checked or am I missing something ?
/* Content */
.content {
padding: 20px;
float: right;
width: 750px;
background-color:#f4f4ec;
.home .content {
padding: 0;}
faiekgMemberTHANKS !!!! THAT WORKED !!!! So happy now , only issue is that it does not show yet on chrome but I am not too stressed about it , checked other browsers and it works , think I need to remove cached version on chrome or something like that.
faiekgMemberThanks , you were right , I uninstalled the background manager. However the code is still not working for some reason ? Im a little stuck on this , what am I missing ?
/* Content */
.content {
padding 20px;
float: right;
width: 750px;
background-color:#f4f4ec;}
faiekgMemberThanks , I toyed around with the background manager plugin a bit but I uninstalled it , the code might have been left behind though. The code did not work sadly though , or I am putting in in the wrong place ?

faiekgMemberI want to make the content background area in grey slightly bigger. Much like this post and forums background.
faiekgMemberNow I need to figure out how to make the background color slightly bigger than the content area ? About 5-10px bigger just to make it look a little neater as currently it looks a little akward. I think its a matter a adding some padding , just need to figure out where.
faiekgMemberOkay I found the css ! added the background line.
.content {
float: right;
width: 750px;
background-color:#999faiekgMemberOkay so what do I look for ? I want all the pages content block one color so there would be no need for individual page id's. I cant though find the css for the page content color ?
faiekgMemberOkay , I figured out how lol , second time I do this recently , anyways if anyone wants to know its very simple actually , just edit the Primary Sidebar as below. I just changed the width to 500 px (anything bigger wraps the content) and I added a padding-top of 150px
Before
.sidebar-primary {
float: right;
width: 360px;To this
/* Primary Sidebar */
.sidebar-primary {
float: right;
width: 500px;
padding-top:150pxfaiekgMemberI also want to move it downer a little
faiekgMemberOkay , I found the solution , Change the max-width value from 1140 to 1300 as below 🙂
/* Site Containers
--------------------------------------------- */.site-inner,
.wrap {
margin: 0 auto;
max-width: 1300px;
}faiekgMemberOh man !! So sorry !! Thanks 🙂
