March 11, 2014 at 2:41 pm in reply to: Is there a list of all the IDs and classes used in Genesis? #94300DrewMember
And I answered my own question with my next search: http://www.genesisframework.com/markup.php
DrewMemberThat sounds right. I'm two days into using Genesis, so I didn't know if this was a theme bug or if there was some setting that I wasn't aware of.
DrewMemberApparently I'm not being very clear.
The Genesis theme expects a header image that is 920 x 150. I've made a header image that is exactly that size. When I load the page, the bottom of the header image is cut off, because the Nomadic theme specifies a header height of 90.
I know how to adjust the CSS for the header to make it fit the image. I know how to modify functions.php so that it sizes the header differently. I can fix it, but I wouldn't think I should have to modify theme files to do it. I was looking for a configuration somewhere in the admin UI that would address it. It seems like a minor bug in the theme.
DrewMemberRight, but it's the theme admin panel that is resizing it to that size. No matter what image I use, it gets cropped and stretched or squeezed to 920 x 150. It doesn't make sense that the theme forces the size of the image, then sets a display size that won't fit the image.
DrewMemberDoh! Never mind, it's now under the "Author Archive Settings" section.
DrewMemberIn for answers, because I'm trying to do the same thing.
DrewMemberJust got this response via email technical support:
Sixteen-Nine uses a custom background solution so the color feature does not work, only the image feature. You can customize the theme to change the way the background works, but the simplest solution is to just create a 1x1 image in the color you want. This will load quickly, stretch to fit any device, and if you ever decide to use the background image as designed it will work for that too.
I guess the color control in the admin panel is inherited from the Genesis parent theme. The child theme should either remove that, or create a workaround.
DrewMemberI had the same question as the OP. I know I can edit the CSS manually, but isn't that what the appearance tab is for? It handles the text color, but not the background color.
