I think you need to modify the CSS to match those dimensions Norman. At the moment, on line 1178 of your style.css it says:
.header-image .site-title > a { float: left; min-height: 80px; width: 100%; }
Try changing that to:
.header-image .site-title > a { float: left; height: 170px; width: 500px; }
CraigMemberAlmost there. On the CSS you've added to centre the buttons it's missing a semi colon. Lines 2044, 2156, 2299, 2335 need a semi colon at the end of the margin declaration.
CraigMemberOkay great, did you clear the cache too? It's still showing the old version here, but with that change I think the buttons should center on small screens.
CraigMemberSpotted another problem, there is an extra closing curly brace on line 2093, can you remove this please? (And the cache will probably need to be emptied again )
CraigMemberOkay, seems to have changed. Will take a look at it now and get back to you.
CraigMemberCraigMemberDoes your website use a caching plugin? I can't see any of the changes to the CSS file online?
CraigMemberThere is a bigger problem at the moment, which is that your website isn't doing what it's supposed to responsively. I've tracked down the problem, there's a missing curly brace on line 1574 which is stopping the browser rendering all the CSS following it. On line 1574, edit so it looks like:
.sidebar li { border-bottom: 1px dotted #ddd; margin-bottom: 2px; padding-bottom: 2px; }
Do this first, then we'll see where we stand with the icons.
CraigMemberIs the site in question the one in your original post? http://www.ira4you.com/ ?
CraigMemberHad a play around with the CSS and came up with the following modification. Should be line 1517 of your style.css file, replace your existing .content .entry-header .entry-meta .entry-time with the following:
.content .entry-header .entry-meta .entry-time { background-color: #e44a3c; color: #fff; display: inline-block; margin: 0 15px 0 0; padding: 5px 15px 5px 15px; }
CraigMemberYes, likewise there is a similar addition required if you want to include the Genesis SEO settings. For reference, it is
add_post_type_support( 'your_custom_post_type', 'genesis-seo' );
CraigMemberThe easiest way I have found to do this is to set the .simple-social-icons div to a fixed width, then use margins to center. However, this way means that every time you add or remove an icon the width will change and the CSS will have to be amended.
Your icon set is 192px wide, so adding this portion of CSS to your media query for smaller than desktop should give the desired effect.
.simple-social-icons { float:none; margin: 0 auto; width:192px; }
CraigMemberHi, could you try moving it out of the prophecy_post_type() function, and place it just after your add_action, so it looks like:
// Register Custom Post Type function prophecy_post_type() { $labels = array( 'name' => _x( 'Prophecy Types', 'Post Type General Name', 'prophecy' ), 'singular_name' => _x( 'Prophecy', 'Post Type Singular Name', 'prophecy' ), 'menu_name' => __( 'Prophecy', 'prophecy' ), 'parent_item_colon' => __( 'Parent Item:', 'prophecy' ), 'all_items' => __( 'All Items', 'prophecy' ), 'view_item' => __( 'View Item', 'prophecy' ), 'add_new_item' => __( 'Add New Item', 'prophecy' ), 'add_new' => __( 'Add New', 'prophecy' ), 'edit_item' => __( 'Edit Item', 'prophecy' ), 'update_item' => __( 'Update Item', 'prophecy' ), 'search_items' => __( 'Search Item', 'prophecy' ), 'not_found' => __( 'Not found', 'prophecy' ), 'not_found_in_trash' => __( 'Not found in Trash', 'prophecy' ), ); $args = array( 'label' => __( 'prophecy_type', 'prophecy' ), 'description' => __( 'Prophecy Type Description', 'prophecy' ), 'labels' => $labels, 'supports' => array( 'title', 'editor', 'excerpt', 'author', 'thumbnail', 'comments', 'trackbacks', 'revisions', 'custom-fields', 'page-attributes', 'post-formats', ), 'taxonomies' => array( 'category', 'post_tag' ), 'hierarchical' => false, 'public' => true, 'show_ui' => true, 'show_in_menu' => true, 'show_in_nav_menus' => true, 'show_in_admin_bar' => true, 'menu_position' => 5, 'menu_icon' => '', 'can_export' => true, 'has_archive' => true, 'exclude_from_search' => false, 'publicly_queryable' => true, 'capability_type' => 'page', ); register_post_type( 'prophecy_type', $args ); } // Hook into the 'init' action add_action( 'init', 'prophecy_post_type', 0 ); add_post_type_support( 'prophecy_type', 'genesis-layouts' );
CraigMemberCraigMemberI presume that means it's sitewide though, rather than just on specific pages?
CraigMemberCan you try adding this line to your functions.php file styzer. You will need to replace 'your_custom_post_type' with the name given to your 'Prophecy' post type.
add_post_type_support( 'your_custom_post_type', 'genesis-layouts' );
CraigMemberHow about adding some css like:
body.header-center .title-area { text-align: center; width:100%; }
Then on the pages you want to have the header centered add a custom body class of header-center.
CraigMemberYour code isn't quite right. Try putting this in the text widget:
<div class="one-third first"><p><strong>$335 Billion</strong><br/> The amount given to charities last year</p></div> <div class="one-third"><p><strong>72 %</strong><br/> The amount of money donated by individuals</p></div> <div class="one-third"><p><strong>13.5%</strong><br/> The amount that was donated online</p></div>
CraigMemberIf the gap is still too great, then you could also look at lowering the line height of your page titles and spacing them using a top and bottom margin instead.
Changing line 759 of style.css to something like this:
h1.entry-title { font-size: 48px; color: #44ace8!important; text-align: left; line-height: 1; margin: 20px 0 40px; }
