Yes, I've tried...And it moves part of the site name (name is fairly long) to the left...
chris01MemberGood day,
As explained, I cannot give the link to the website, as the client has requested that I work behind a Privacy Screen.
That said, here is a link to the 'Entreprise Pro' StudioPress Template (below). At the top right hand corner of the page, you will find the 'Search' plugin (which is installed in the Header Right widget option).
Link to the template:

Can the Search plugin be replaced with a Social Media Icon/links plugin?Tks -
chris01MemberHi Lynne,
Figured it out about 20 minutes ago. Turns out that I had a parameter missing, in the coding for the Call to Action, which somehow messed up everything... Talk about trying to figure it out!!
Tks!
chris01MemberHello -
Any takers on this question/issue?
I have a client breathing down my neck, and I can't figure out how to fix this problem!! (the answer is most probably in front of my eyes, but can't find it right now...)
Any help would be greatly appreciated -
Thanks -
Chris
chris01MemberBrad you are simply the best!!!
Thank you so much for your time and explanations!

chris01MemberHi all,
OK, I spoke to fast on my last post. I went ahead and installed the "Portfolio Page" as explained on the link given above re: http://wpsites.net/web-design/how-to-add-portfolio-page-to-eleven40-theme/ and even though I am presently working with the Education theme, all went well - until...
Problem:
I spent about 30 minutes looking for the "Genesis Featured Post Widget" and not being able to find it, I installed the Genesis "Featured Widget Amplified" thinking that the "other" widget had been removed since I could not find it anywhere.Well, for sure, nothing works as all the "Featured Posts" are vertical.
I've played around the width, padding, permalink, searched the web for an answer and after another lost 30 minutes or so, found a post on this forum that said that the "Genesis Featured Post widget" comes installed with the template.
So...if its not with the Education template, am I right in thinking that, I cannot install it, and I have been loosing my time here?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks -
Chris
chris01MemberHi Anitac,
Tks so much for the link, I've installed the Portfolio page, and it works perfectly.
Merci!
chris01MemberHi Brad,
Thank you so much in taking the time to show "how to" in your blog post. Nothing like a visual - logo is removed and the page looks perfect!
Thanks again!
chris01MemberHi RobG,
Obviously, I did not explain myself properly here - my mistake.
The client wants the logo to be removed only from the "HOME" page - that's all. The client wants the logo to remain on all the other website pages.
Sorry, the "Appearance then Header" option does not work in this case.
Thanks -
chris01MemberHi Tim,
Happy to read that it all worked out!
Chris
chris01MemberHi Tim,
First, you have to figure out what is the Category ID for your Portfolio page. To find this go to Posts, Categories, and scroll your mouse over the name of the Categorie re: Portfolio. At the bottom of the page, (IE and FF) you will see an URL, and the number of the categorie.
Still in the backend, go to, Genesis, Theme Settings, Blog Page Template. Under 'Exclude the following Category IDs' - enter the number you found above... and save.
Now, my website (still under construction) has a static front page, and Post page is - Select - ....This works perfectly with this set up. If your website is set up differently, you may have to install a plugin called 'Advanced Category Excluder'.
I had to install this plugin at first, as my Home page was my Blog page...now changed.
Let me know how it works out!
Chris
chris01MemberWorks like a charm psahalot -
Thank you so much!
chris01MemberHi Carrie,
First, many thanks for putting the explanation together in regards to your design!
I’ve racked my brains all last evening trying to figure it out, only to realize that I was losing more time messing around trying to be a ‘know it all’ versus asking a simple question, and, (I am so lucky) receiving a more than fantastic answer!
You know what, when I posted on this forum, and you answered earlier, I never ‘clicked’ that I was taking to the same person…that I was commenting on (link to your website) in a previous post!!
So much for paying attention!
Another thing - I also posted on your website under the post: The Weekend Redesign Challenge – asking you how you created the design in question!
OK, I’m off to figure this out –
By the way, You Rock girl!
Many thanks from the Laurentians – North of Montreal, Quebec

chris01MemberHi Ozzy,
I've installed the Extender plugin so I get the "is_page or is_post conditionals" (well, starting to!) - What I'm not understanding is how a Widget would bring in the background color...
Like I said, I'm learning, and will most probably have a Duh moment when I see the response! 🙂
Chris
chris01MemberHi Ozzy,
I'm trying to bring in a 'dark area' or design that will be situated between the Navigation Bar and the Content. Here's another example:
As you can see, Carrie has this 'black box' on all pages - with different widgets added - which I think looks great, and for sure, want to do the same thing in a different color!
Thanks for your time!
Chris
chris01MemberI must have spent over 3 hours yesterday trying to figure this out - Even tried with the Extender plugin, but to no avail. From what I understand, it has to do with the #inner div? Maybe...?
Will wait for your answers - both of you are the best - Many thanks!

chris01MemberFebruary 16, 2013 at 5:55 am in reply to: Working with a static home page with the Minimum Child Theme #20660chris01MemberI don't think you are going to find a solution to your question ECM123. It has now been over 2 weeks since I asked my question, and still no answer! And yes, I've searched this forum, search the web...and still cant' figure it out.
To be honest, at this point I'm ready to ditch the whole thing, and just go ahead and find a different theme all together!
February 8, 2013 at 7:38 pm in reply to: Working with a static home page with the Minimum Child Theme #19134chris01MemberI'm trying to do the same thing as Amber i.e.
The HOME page showing the top full witdh picture with the Social Media icons below it, then below this, have a page with text - not blog posts.
And, the BLOG page, showing blog posts.
In other words, when you look at the menu, when you click on the HOME page, it would show the image, SM and text below it. When you click on the BLOG page, it would show, blog posts.

chris01MemberGood day all,
I also have the same problem. The footer with Widgets added, looks perfect on the Blog page, (same as the demo). On all the other website pages, there is a white background behind the Widgets, and the Widgets themselves have a grey background.
Any solutions to this?
Thanks,
