Brad DaltonParticipant
You can install the Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin and display a custom sidebar on any page or post you select that sidebar.
You can ddisplay the full width page layout if you don 't want any sidebar.
I tested these settings using different default layouts and changing the layout on a per pagte basis and it works.
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantWhich child theme are you using? Pretty Pictures or Pretty Young Thing theme?
Brad DaltonParticipantWhere exactly do you want the image gallery? Do you want a slider or image gallery using the native gallery?
Please post a link to the exact location.
Brad DaltonParticipantIts on your child themes style.css file code line 53 but it may disappear when you change the theme settings.
Not sure with this theme as its a community theme:
#wrap { background: url("images/base_watermark_bg.png") no-repeat scroll 10% top transparent; overflow: hidden; padding: 0; width: 100%; }
You could remove it from this code or wait until you decide on which option you will be using.
The image file is in the child themes images folder named base_watermark_bg.png
Brad DaltonParticipantMarch 11, 2013 at 10:06 pm in reply to: Are the forums devoted to particular child themes gone? #25572Brad DaltonParticipantYes that's true for new forum posts but the old forums are still read only.
Brad DaltonParticipantI did this on a local installation of WordPress with the Magazine theme and it worked.
I duplicated the PHP code in functions.php for registering widget areas and renamed all code with home to custom and pasted at the end of the file.
Did the same with all the CSS code which included home to custom
Copied and renamed the home.php to custom.php and renamed all instances of home to custom
Added template name to the custom.php file
/*
Template Name: Custom
*/You'll need to use another Slider plugin, i recommend the Easing Slider plugin
Brad DaltonParticipantInstall the Genesis Simple Edits plugin and remove the shortcodes for post info.
Brad DaltonParticipantYes you can hide all of that using CSS code or remove it using PHP code.
Try installing the Genesis Simple Edits plugin and removing the shortcodes for post meta and post info.
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantI added the CSS code as new rule in Firebug and it did work. Try clearing your browser cache.
The other code you are referring too doesn't relate to your site which is probably why it doesn't work. ALL the code i post here is tested so it ALWAYS works otherwise i wouldn't post it.
I have every single SP theme installed locally.
If you want to hide a title on a page or posts simply use the post i.d
Example:
.post-id-007 .entry-title { display: none; }
Hiding titles on posts and pages will reqiure different code.
You need to be very specific with a question to get the best answer.
Brad DaltonParticipantHi Bill.
Yes you can.
genesis_register_sidebar( array( 'id' => 'home-custom', 'name' => __( 'Home Custom', 'streamline' ), 'description' => __( 'This is the custom widget area for your homepage.', 'streamline' ), ) ); add_action( 'genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap', 'child_before_content'); function child_before_content() { if ( is_page(2) ) { echo '<div id="home-custom">'; dynamic_sidebar( 'home-custom' ); echo '</div><!-- end #home-custom -->'; } }
Brad DaltonParticipant.home .post-info { display: none; } .home #content h1 { display: none; }
Paste this CSS code at the end of your child themes style.css file.
Brad DaltonParticipantBrad DaltonParticipantHide them using CSS code if your PHP doesn't work.
Can you link to your site please.
You mean from your home page or front page?
Brad DaltonParticipantGo to Appearance > Widgets and drag in a Genesis featured post widget and configure the settings.
Brad DaltonParticipantInstall the Genesis Simple Hooks plugin
or
use the Genesis > Theme Settings > Header and Footer Scripts
Brad DaltonParticipantNo sorry. You could add previous and next post tags but thats probably not what you want.
Try the wordpress.stackexchange.com
