Another option is to use the shortcode in a custom function.
Here's a sample of what the code will look like https://gist.github.com/braddalton/5247701
You can change the conditional tag, add category i.d's to the conditioinal tag and change the Genesis hook location.
Brad DaltonParticipantYou'll need a custom function written to run the PHP function for the plugin you want to use to style your category archives page. The function will need a conditional tag so it only executes on the pages you want it to.
Sorry but i cannot read the code very well when its not pasted correctly. Please use the PHP opening and closing shortcodes when pasting PHP code in posts. Learn more about FAQ No.5
That code won't work unless it a added to a custom function correctly.
What i suggest you do is ask the plugin devloper for tha custom function which works in your child themes functions.php file because your theme doesn't use category archive templates.
When you get that from them, i'll write it into a cutsom function with conditional tag for you so its works on your theme.

Brad DaltonParticipantHave you tried any of the calender plugins like these 2:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/calendar/screenshots/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/screenshots/
Brad DaltonParticipantOr maybe News or Lifestyle if you want to keep the same layout. Metro is another good option.
Brad DaltonParticipantWhen i copied and pasted the code from the SP code snippets, it changed the apostrophe's and caused an error because i didn't copy the raw version. This is a very common error caused by incorrectly copying and pasting PHP Code.
Try this:
// Customize the footer section add_filter('genesis_footer_creds_text', 'church_footer_creds_text'); function church_footer_creds_text($creds) { $creds = '[footer_copyright] · <a href=”http://www.willowhavenoutdoor.com”>Copyright Willow Haven Outdoor 2010</a>'; return $creds; }
Its also best practice to use a text editor like Notepad++ and use FTP or File Manager in cPanel rather than the File Editor in the WordPress Dashbaord.
Brad DaltonParticipantThe White Screen of Death has struck again!!
Go to the file using FTP or File Manager in cPanel and delete the code you added that caused the error. Download a copy of the functions.php first as backup.
Here's the path: public_html/wp-content/themes/church/functions.php on line 52
Brad DaltonParticipantRemove this: // Remove after post widget from sticky post
If this doesn't work, install the Widget Logic plugin and add the conditional tag to the after post widget to exclude it from displaying on that post.
!is_single ('585')
Otherwise you'll need a custom function.
Brad DaltonParticipantI don't think that code will work.
I would ask the plugin developer for the code which works with Genesis child themes functions.php file as there are NO template files you can paste the line of PHP into.
Brad DaltonParticipantUse the Simple Hooks plugin and paste the shortcode and HTML directly into the hook location or add a custom function to your child themes functions.php file.
Sample Code: https://gist.github.com/braddalton/5244584
The only problem is it might not be the location you want so its probably better to create a widget area which you can target using CSS code.
Sample code: https://gist.github.com/braddalton/5211317
If you add a widget using this code, you'll also need to add support for shortcodes in widgets:
add_filter( 'widget_text', 'shortcode_unautop'); add_filter( 'widget_text', 'do_shortcode');
Brad DaltonParticipantMarch 25, 2013 at 10:14 am in reply to: How to Remove After Post Widget Only from Sticky Post #31133Brad DaltonParticipantThis works. Just tested it again.
.post-585 .after-post {display: none;}
Brad DaltonParticipantWhich theme are you using?
Here's the code from the streamline theme which pulls an image from the posts and displays it above the posts title. If i knew which theme you are using, i could test it locally using the same theme.
/** Add post image above post title */ add_action( 'genesis_before_post', 'streamline_post_image' ); function streamline_post_image() { if ( is_page() ) return; if ( $image = genesis_get_image( 'format=url&size=post-image' ) ) { printf( '<a href="%s" rel="bookmark"><img class="post-photo" src="%s" alt="%s" /></a>', get_permalink(), $image, the_title_attribute( 'echo=0' ) ); } }
Brad DaltonParticipantBecause your post-i.d on your test site is probably different.
I grabbed the post i.d from the source code on your live site. I don't have access to your test site.
The code works because i tested it on your live site as a new CSS rule using Firebug.
Brad DaltonParticipantThis reply has been marked as private.Brad DaltonParticipantCan you link to your site please.
Adding the conditional tag, is_single() will restrict the output to single posts only.
Rather than use Simple hooks, you could add a widget area after all single posts and drag in the Genesis eNews extended widget or Aweber form plugin/code.
Here's the PHP code you can add to the end of your child theme's functions.php file.
You can easily change the location where the widget content displays by changing the genesis hook.
