ParticipantHi Stephan
Just started using this theme myself today. With a lot of these full-screen image/parallax/widget-controlled front pages on the StudioPress themes, you need to add content to the Widget areas for the home page to take shape.
Try putting a Text widget in Front Page 1 Widget Area and adding some dummy text.
Good luck with it.
Thanks
Dom

ParticipantNo worries. Although if I'd known you were going to stick a massive picture of Grace Jones up there I probably wouldn't have told you! 😉

I'm a newbie to Genesis and loving it so far!
I've added text widgets to the front pages and my images aren't showing up. Guidance much appreciated!!

ParticipantHi Alexis
Have you gone to Appearance > Customise and added your images to the "Front Page Background Images" section?
Thanks
Dom

Participantand Hi Alexis,
Cool stuff you do, and I mean the vibrational balans thing, Chakras and stuff (are you also in to abe? 😉
I like the choice of colors and the over all look of the site. But I have some suggestions. The homepage image is unnecessary heavy, 700k is a bit too much, and the fonts are a bit blurry on my retina screen. The sweet person with umbrella have decent image weight, around 200k for that size.
Then the Quote Rotator are absolutely too small. and I it's not so obvious that the numbers in the footer are chakra#, I tried to click em. 😉 The bullet lists have smaller font size, better with bigger or at least consistent font size in all paragraphs.ones again, the overall vibe on the page is appealing, good luck with the business. <3

MemberHi Stephan,
Thank you so much for the feedback! I can't seem to view the images from my end so I'm not sure what I'm doing.......Maybe the image sizes are too big for display.
Thanks again!

ParticipantHi Alexis
When I Inspect Element in Chrome, there's no background image set in
.front-page-1. Are you clicking "Save & Publish" when you've uploaded the images (sorry if that's really patronising 🙂 )?Thanks
Dom

MemberHi Dom,
Not patronizing at all:) I have saved and published them. The images display on the backend but nothing on the front end. It seemed that Stephan could view them. Maybe the image size is too large. This is the only thing I've struggled with so far using this theme.
Thank you so much!!

ParticipantHi again
Only other thing I can think of is that it may be a caching issue. Have you installed a caching plugin? I think StudioPress uses images 1600 x 1050 (or something similar), but it should scale whatever you feed it.
If you're happy for me to take a look, you could set me up an admin login and I'll see what's going on?
Thanks
Dom

ParticipantHi Alexis,
Last time I visited your site it had another theme, it seams you have changed your theme.
Did you assign hompage in preferences — read?/S

MemberHi Stephan,
That's strange because it's been the altitude theme this whole time. My chakredy.com site is done in thesis and the chakredy.com/immersion is the new one in genesis.....
I tried assigning the home page in the reading preferences and it still does not display images. Having a developer take a look from the back end. We'll see!
