Yup, you read that warning because you're trying to edit the CORE file.
It's always BAD to edit the Genesis file, since it'll be overwritten when you update it in the future.
Any customization should go in your child theme files.
Well, seems you're using a child theme. Great.
To customize the 404 page, you can copy the code from the Genesis and paste it into a new blank file, rename it 404.php and upload to your child theme folder.
Want a simpler solution?
Use Genesis 404 Page plugin.
wpspeakMemberCan you provide a link to your website? I can tell exactly where to put it if your give me the link.

wpspeakMemberProblem still not fix.
Your reply was on Jan 16, and I just opened a new thread about this problem yesterday (I didn't realized someone had opened this thread before)
wpspeakMember... So is it possible that there are any security holes in my WordPress (3.5.1) website after a install / upgrade went wrong?
NO.
wpspeakMember1. First your theme must support post thumbnail. (You're lucky because Genesis already added that).
2. Paste your video link on the post editor. Then hit the save draft button.
3. Right after that, you'll see on your right of the post editor in the featured image metabox, the thumbnail of the video will appear as the featured image.
ps: Please learn how to read manual/instructions from the plugin's page. It's very easy.
wpspeakMemberDo you mean the featured image of the feature or grid?
See the link I provided above.
To remove featured image from the grid, set "grid_image_size" to 0.
'grid_image_size' => '0',
Everything is explained on the page from the link I provided above.
wpspeakMemberI've no idea how to do that. Why would you want to post the image snapshot of the video?
But if you want a popup of video when user clicks a link, this plugin is very helpful http://captaintheme.com/docs/light-plugin-documentation/
If you're looking for thumbnail or featured image for the video, try the Video Thumbnail plugin.
wpspeakMemberTry any of these two plugins
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lightbox-plus/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-video-lightbox/Well, how did you add play-button overlay on the video? Because lightbox plus plugin will add the play button too.
January 26, 2013 at 12:22 am in reply to: Does anyone know how to do multiple home page loops? #14962wpspeakMemberNo problem. I'm pretty sure other folks will have different ways of doing this. But the one I mentioned above might be the simplest one (at least for me)
wpspeakMemberHi,
Please be specific. The best way to ask this kind of questions is to provide with detailed explanations (including the widget/plugin you're using, you url etc)
wpspeakMemberFrom the home.php file, I can see this line
genesis_get_option('gallery_cat'), 'showposts' => genesis_get_option('number_images'))); while($recent->have_posts()) : $recent->the_post();?>
Try adding
'orderby' => 'rand'
.. inside the WP_Query array.

wpspeakMemberYou question wasn't clear.
If you're using the plugin, I should have all the functionality to add the Wiki CPT.
wpspeakMemberCan I see your full code?
There reason might be because you put it in the wrong place or missed any semicolon or bracket.
If your functions.php file works fine before adding the code, for sure the problem was caused by the new code you just added.
wpspeakMemberTo make it responsive, you've used the Fitvid plugin. Great.
If your concern is about the appearance of generate box in smaller browser, that's just a styling issue. You need to figure out the CSS yourself,
wpspeakMemberYou can use Greg Threaded Comment Numbering plugin.
Use this code to add support to the plugin when using Genesis
/** Add comment numbering */ add_action( 'genesis_before_comment', 'modernblogger_numbered_comments' ); function modernblogger_numbered_comments () { if (function_exists( 'gtcn_comment_numbering' )) echo gtcn_comment_numbering($comment->comment_ID, $args); }
This code was taken from Studiopress (tutorial section) few months ago and I just noticed they had remove it. Not sure why. But this code works and I'm using it on one of my themes I am currently develop.
wpspeakMemberGenesis > SEO Settings > Homepage Author
There you go.
Cheers,
WPSpeak
wpspeakMemberSorry, seems the post editor stripped my code. Btw, you can still see the same code from the link I provided you above.
wpspeakMemberWell, if you're using Generate, you have to change the thumbnail size from the home.php file. Open you theme editor, you'll see something like this:
2,
'feature_image_size' => 0,
'feature_image_class' => 'alignleft post-image',
'feature_content_limit' => 0,
'grid_image_size' => 'grid-thumbnail',
'grid_image_class' => 'alignleft post-image',
'grid_content_limit' => 0,
'more' => __( '[Continue reading...]', 'genesis' ),
) );
} else {
genesis_standard_loop();
}
}/** Remove the post meta function for front page only **/
remove_action( 'genesis_after_post_content', 'genesis_post_meta' );genesis();
Here's the size for feature post:
'feature_image_size' => 0,
And for the grid
'grid_image_size' => 'grid-thumbnail',
You may refer here http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/genesis-grid-loop/
wpspeakMemberThe code you use only works for the blog loop.
If you're using the Featured Post amplified plugin, you can change it from the widget settings. Just edit the post info and post meta field. Well, to do that you can use the Genesis shortocode.
Ref: http://my.studiopress.com/docs/shortcode-reference/
When you use the Featured Post Amplified plugin, once you tick on the "Show Post Info" or "Show Post Meta", another field will automatically showing up below them few seconds after that (it won't refresh your page) and you'll see they will be auto populated with some shortcodes.
You'll need to edit/delete/change the shortcodes. Please refer to the link I provided above.
