Just fyi, if you don't wrap your code by using the button before and after, it will mess up your forum posts page styling.

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHello,
Try adding this to your theme's style.css file:
.sidebar-primary .widget_products ul.product_list_widget > li { padding: 0 0 4px; } .sidebar-primary .widget_products ul.product_list_widget > li > a, .sidebar-primary .widget_products ul.product_list_widget > li > span { padding-left: 15px; }
That should work, but if not you can try getting more specific with your css or (last resort) you can add !important to the end like "padding-left: 15px !important;"

In your theme's style.css file, around line 488, make these changes:
#subnav ul { display: table; float: none; margin: 0 auto; width: auto; }
Have a great day,

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHello,
You can do this with the default WordPress filter, adding this code to your theme's functions.php file:
add_filter( 'comment_form_defaults', 'youruniqueprefix_change_comment_label' ); function youruniqueprefix_change_comment_label( $args ) { $args['comment_field'] = '<p class="comment-form-comment"><label for="comment">' . _x( 'Note', 'noun' ) . '</label> <textarea id="comment" name="comment" cols="45" rows="8" aria-required="true"></textarea></p>'; return $args; }
Have a great day.

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHello,
You can modify your Executive theme's front-page.php file. Currently the executive_home_sections() functions is:
function executive_home_sections() { genesis_widget_area( 'home-slider', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-slider widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-top', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-top widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-cta', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-cta widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-middle', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-middle widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); }
WordPress has a built in function to detect mobile devices, wp_is_mobile. Change the above function to:
function executive_home_sections() { if ( !wp_is_mobile() ) { genesis_widget_area( 'home-slider', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-slider widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); } genesis_widget_area( 'home-top', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-top widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-cta', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-cta widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); genesis_widget_area( 'home-middle', array( 'before' => '<div class="home-middle widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) ); }
That will display the home slider widget on non-mobile devices only. This is for the entire slider widget area, so if you have other widgets in there, they also will not show.
Keep in mind that ipads/tablets are considered mobile devices as well, so no slider there. If you want more specific control, take a look at this plugin (I've never tried it but plan to try it soon):
http://wordpress.org/plugins/mobble/faq/
Also, you should test this afterwards...some people have reported issues with using wp_is_mobile with aggressive caching systems...but I've used it many times with no issues.

September 1, 2014 at 4:12 pm in reply to: Daily Dish Child Theme – Make Sticky Primary-Nav Background Solid #122282Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberI don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, unless there's another rule that's more specific. I didn't see anything, but it's possible.

September 1, 2014 at 3:47 pm in reply to: Daily Dish Child Theme – Make Sticky Primary-Nav Background Solid #122278Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHello,
Add a background-color to your .nav-primary rule, in your theme's style.css around line 1209:
.nav-primary { background-color: #fff; border-bottom: medium double #ddd; border-top: medium double #ddd; }

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberGreat, glad I could help. Actually, I prefer to not have it inline at all (unless there's a good reason, maybe a plugin, etc) and use css...but important thing is it's working 🙂
Have a great weekend!

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberMy pleasure! It's easy to miss these things. Glad it's all sorted out!

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHi,
You have an inline width on the parent container for these images:
<div style="width: 750px;" class="item-content">
If that's hardcoded, you should remove it and use css to control your width. It's possible that it's added with js also...if so, you have to find out what's adding it (plugin?).
That should get you going in the right direction. Check it out and if you get stuck let us know.
Have a great night,
Tony

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHi,
Around line 460 of your style.css file, you have your .site-inner and .wrap set to a width of 1000px. Try changing it to a %:
.site-inner, .wrap { margin: 0 auto; max-width: 1000px; width: 100%; }
That should take care of the issue. Have a great night!

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHi,
You have to add a background color to your sub menu li a:
Around line 1004 of your theme's style.css file you have ".genesis-nav-menu .sub-menu a". Add your background color to that and you'll be set:
background-color: #cccccc;
Take care,
Tony

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHello,
There are several ways to handle this. There's a css property, background-size: contain, which you already have that keeps the background image contained inside it's parent container.
The problem is the container holding the background image is set to 500px, so it doesn't shrink with your browser. Try changing this in your theme's style.css file, around line 1956 (inside one of your media queries):
.header-image .site-title a { background-size: contain !important; width: 100%; min-height: 100px; padding: 5% 0; }
You can play with the min-height and padding. If you still want to use a different image, you can add "background: url(your image url) no-repeat;" inside whichever media query you want the change to happen for (or create a new media query).
Hope that helps.

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberThanks Lauren...wierd, I saw the link in my email, but nowhere on the forum :/
Luaren's recommendation should take care of it...there's a good chance your theme is using front-page.php for the home page, so you have to check for is_front_page.
You might have to remove is_home, depending on your setup...that may cause the image to also show on the blog home page.

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHello,
Try changing the left padding to 0 and instead adding 30px for the left margin.

Tony @ AlphaBlossomMemberHey Adam,
Your code didn't post. Try it in the code tags, or maybe use something like http://pastebin.com/ and post the link so we can try to help.
Thanks,
Tony
