Mornin' braddalton,
Don't know if you received my last email late last nite. Thanx for all your assistance. You made it happen with the creative idea of writing the code in a temp post then taking the created html into the text widget. My kinda solution. Worked well and it can be seen now in the Header. Had to tinker with the image and I'll be rewriting that tag line for the next week or so.....but it works well.

tjdMemberGreat advice braddalton, Hey that's creative,
So I simply create a new post with the pic & text, then copy the code from the html page into a text widget and put that up into the header widget area. I wouldn't have thought of that....obviously i don't have the experience. I'll give it a try.Thanx, this may take a bit of time and it's gettin late here in Tokyo, but I'll try to get it complete tonite and let you know. So now I see the 3 plugins and I assuming I use one after(?) i create the new text widget, that is not to be used with the current profile widget...or is that not correct?
I'll hyperlink to the plugins and see what they say...
You've been great, Thanx'
TomtjdMemberHi braddalton,
Thanx for staying with me on this. I'm getting no change from either code. I added color as you suggested, but nothing changed. Then I added the original as you did, at the very bottom of the css, updated, checked, no change and when I returned to the bottom of css to remove the code, it was gone?? So I'm not sure where to go with this.
the Title and Title Tag line are both white text on a red header bkgd. The text in the Header widget is grey, and although it's difficult to tell, it looks like the grey text color of the widget titles in the sidebar. As it is I can't use it. It is my attempt to get around the fact that my pic+short bio at the top of the sidebar, fall way down the Page on a Mobile phone. Anyway,
thanx for your help,
Tom

tjdMemberHi braddalton,
I put the code in between these 2 codes in the css.
}
#header .widget-area {
float: right;
padding: 20px 0 0;
width: 300px;
}#header .widget {
margin: 0 0 10px;
overflow: hidden;
}I didn't get any change in font color in the widget. Fortunately I didn't see any other change either. I'm past the stage of cardiac arrest but still shudder when unexpected visions pop-up on screen. But thanx so much for your suggestion. If I didn't put it in correctly please advise.
Thanx, Tom
tjdMemberThanx for that recommendation re: Urban Giraffe. I only installed Yoast recently and wasn't aware of the re-direct feature at first. I did discover it later but in trying to use it, I never saw that anything was affected. Frankly, prior to this site-building, I thought I could simply 'edit' the permalinks at the top of each Page, but ran into trouble with the one Page. My solution to that, was to trash that Page and re-build it with the new permalink and it works fine. One question I have is, where is the code-information stored? Can I look at it? As I can't touch Genesis, I'm wondering how I can tell the re-direct works. I probably should read a 'Guide to Permalinks for the Code-challenged'.
Happy New Year!
tjdMemberHello,
I did figure a fix for my particular issue but I've bookmarked the plug-in for future reference. Thanx for taking the time to offer your suggestions.
Happy New Year, once more,
Tom

I checked out Notepad++ and found it's not yet ready for mac. But the basic idea is sound and I'll use it with my Text Edit file or Pages. Clever idea.
Thanx for your advice.
Happy New Year,

tjdMemberHi anitac,
I'm attempting, without much luck it seems , to redirect about 5-6 Pages to the same Pages but with new names. I've been working with a WP Plugin and it just doesn't seem to be working for me. About a half-hour ago I opened up a page from Dashboard and got a white screen with a message: Example Domaine from http://www.iana.org. I haven't a clue?? Anyway the information is there but when I choose that page from the Nav Menu I get that Message and I'm totally clueless.
I thought changing the Permalinks would be a breeze but not so. Part of the confusion is that yesterday I installed both W3 Cache & Yoast SEO which for me was a bit demanding and so there is a little confusion goin on. Yoast sez for good SEO I need to reconfigure my URL's and so there you are. Thanx for asking....ideas??

December 30, 2012 at 11:23 pm in reply to: How to add Widget Area into Post and Make Primary sidebar wider #8532tjdMemberHello Riavon, I noticed your suggestion re: line 1060, and I was wondering if there's a quik method of locating a specific line #? Newly working with a Genesis and Legacy and a line locator would be handy. Thanx.
tjdMemberThe last comment caught my attention as I just installed W3 yesterday and struggled to ensure it was set-up correctly...and not being sure after all. I've just moved from a WP free theme and I'm building anew with Legacy for a future biz site. How do I determine if W3 is set-up properly?
Thanx and Happy Holidays.
