wp-content/themes is where it should be.
Titanium CreativeMemberThanks for posting the solution. I was preparing to start pulling my teeth out so I could feel better. LOL.
Any idea why this duplication of settings is even in the Genesis framework? Seems cumbersome to me. Especially since it can't be overridden by the supports option in custom post types like the WP option can.
BTW, this is also true if you are using a custom child theme and I suspect for any child theme unless it is somehow specifically over-ridden by the theme.
Titanium CreativeMemberSo, what exactly does add_theme_support do for you? It obviously does "something" more than just this.
Titanium CreativeMemberBrad, that worked great except the when the second line places the menu, it isn't structurally the same as the original primary nav so I used this:
function ticr_do_doy_nav() { /** Do nothing if menu not supported */ //if ( ! genesis_nav_menu_supported( 'doy' ) ) //return; /** If menu is assigned to theme location, output */ if ( has_nav_menu( 'doy' ) ) { $args = array( 'theme_location' => 'doy', 'container' => '', 'menu_class' => genesis_get_option( 'nav_superfish' ) ? 'menu genesis-nav-menu menu-nav superfish' : 'menu genesis-nav-menu menu-nav', 'echo' => 0, ); $nav = wp_nav_menu( $args ); $nav_output = sprintf( '<nav class="nav-doy" itemtype="http://schema.org/SiteNavigationElement" itemscope="itemscope" role="navigation">%2$s%1$s%3$s</nav>', $nav, genesis_structural_wrap( 'nav', 'open', 0 ), genesis_structural_wrap( 'nav', 'close', 0 ) ); echo $nav_output; } }
Not sure what all of this does exaactly but your recommendation combined with this is giving me exactly what I am after.
I modified the first line to :
add_action('init', function() { register_nav_menu( 'doy', __( 'DOY Navigation Menu', 'child-domain' )); });
I've been using anonymous functions for things I will only use once. It simplifies the code and readability. Plus I don't have to invent a bunch of function names for one-offs.
THANKS!!
Titanium CreativeMemberOK. Well. Nevermind.
Stupid error. I forgot to specify position:relative for the parent object so the New callout would get placed but as soon as I hovered and things were recalculated it disappeared.
Add the position to CSS and all is fixed.
Drove me crazy for a while though. ;o)
Titanium CreativeMemberBrad, that's true but she was talking about the Featured Post aspect of it. the developers license adds that functionality as well as several others like Internal CSS editing and Scheduling.
Titanium CreativeMemberTitanium CreativeMemberAh, well, I guess that answered THAT question! ;o)
Anyway, go to the Soliloquy website and look for advanced add-ons. Scroll to click on Featured Content Add-On.
Hope that helps.
Titanium CreativeMemberliz, If you get the developers license you gain access to all of the add-ons, one of which is the featured content add-on that provide a simple, flexible way to add featured posts to your slider.
It also provides the ability to add sliders via shortcode or script functions.
I had to research sliders recently because the Simple Slider was one of the slowest loading plugins on one of my clients sites and we needed to trim fat in all areas. After reading a ton of reviews and test results, I chose Soliloquy because of its flexibility and the fact that it is one of the two fastest loading sliders I could find. Can't remember the other one but Soliloquy seemed more flexible.
I have also had to contact Soliloquy with questions and I have to say they have been very responsive and friendly.
Not sure if I am allowed to post links so my appologies if I shouldn't do this but, read about it here:
