ParticipantVictor, there is definitely some fault in the Genesis themes with respect to search function on full-width pages. A programmer by the name of Sridhar Katakam specifically had an article on this problem as many Genesis users had the same problem.
This is where I found the solution:
He had therein supplied a code to slightly modify search.php (with some tweaks in css also) so that the theme is made to show search results as a list instead of its default format. Now the search is working absolutely fine.
You can see it at work on my site:

ParticipantOK, thanks so much. I'm going to have to clean out the HTML fully. Appreciate your advice.

ParticipantThanks for the suggestions, Victor. But I have one doubt. If the HTML was the issue, then other search pages should also be having layout issues. But while worrying about this I found another possible reason, and would be grateful for your opinion on this.
My name appears on a page in default layout, as well as on some other pages in full width layout. I tried the search on other similar words (e.g. "bestselling book") which appears on a full width page. Again the layout goes out of whack. But if I search a word that only appears on default page layout (content on left with sidebar on right), then the search results are fine.
So there is some issue with the theme with respect to search done on full width pages. If this is so, is there any way to correct this?
Thanks and regards.

ParticipantOkay, I'll do that. Thanks so much.

ParticipantUnfortunately that idea may not work for me since I am giving my RSS feed to a big magazine site that wants to syndicate my blog posts. So I have to give the full blog post, but if there was a way to "hide" the unwanted parts of the blog post in the RSS feed it would be great. I am not a techie so I need some plugin that can help me use some emthod to hide a paragraph or two from my blog posts RSS.
Specifically, if you notice this post: https://solohacks-academy.com/how-to-build-a-knockout-brand-identity-for-knowledge-commerce/
I need to hide the "subscribe to my newsletters" box and the box below that for "requesting a pdf version of my article". These two items are part of the blog post but should not be in the RSS feed.
Is there any HTML script or code snippet I can use to hide these 2 parts from my RSS feed?

ParticipantThanks so much Jamie. That did the trick exactly! How I envy all techies!

ParticipantHi Victor Font: I read an article of yours and changed the location of my menu from nav-header to primary nav and now the laptop and mobile versions and grand. The only remaining problem I have is that I want the hamburger menu on the tablet also - instead the whole menu is displaying and badly. Please help if you see this message.

ParticipantThank you ... I did as you said and the problem got solved.
I have given #media queries for mobile and tablet and increased the margin between home-middle and menu. Now the hamburger menu is clickable.
But still one problem persists. The menu items are displaying vertically down into the background space (in mobile) and in tablet there is no hamburger menu and the menu items show ... but some last menu items are below the black header and falling over the background image.
Is there a way for the hamburger menu to show on both tablet and mobile and to have the menu items show up within the black nav area horizontally perhaps instead of vertically down into the body of the page where the words are not visible against the background?
Thanks for your help.

ParticipantI tried that but if the header height or the navigation menus heights are changed, the individual menu items don't change - so I'm looking for a solution where if I change the height once all menu items in future added to the navigation will also conform corectly. There must be a way to change the height of the menus along with the menu items that appear on it.

ParticipantThanks for the tip.
But I am looking to reduce the font size only for mobiles and want to know how and where to add the @media query.
Shobha22
ParticipantThanks that works! Awesome!
Shobha22
ParticipantThanks, that sounds good. Should I add the widget to the page itself at the top using some plugin like "Widgetize Pages Light"? I'm not a techie so could you please explain how to do it?
Shobha22
ParticipantThanks, Christoph, that worked beautifully!

ParticipantThanks for the feedback and for signing up. The site is doing quite well - gaining momentum quite steadily. Yes there are a lot of providers in this niche market.
