raymanParticipant
Many Thanks!!
raymanParticipantThis unresponsiveness of images on the home page is the reason i stopped using Genesis a couple of years ago after many years of use. I was tempted back, chose the wellness theme and low and behold on iphone and ipad mini the parallax background images don't resize and appear as big blurry abstract fuzz.
You guys are such good wp coders so why can't you make this work?????
raymanParticipantAnd the answer is......
remove or comment out the selectors
.image-section .widget-wrap::before, .image-section .widget-wrap::after {}
.image-section .widget-wrap::before {}
.image-section .widget-wrap::after {}
in front-style.css around line 85 to 108with thanks to Christoph via a different thread
raymanParticipantI've removed all the .button:before, .button:after, code but still have the ugly top and bottom.
I want to remove them because i've added a lower opacity to the text box background color but they are coded separately from it and are unaffected.
Where else might i look to eliminate them?
raymanParticipantMany thanks David that worked perfectly across the board. It also helped me figure out the inner pages too.
raymanParticipantAwesome Christoph, that was it!
The bump feature in the header is it's size change when you begin to scroll down.
Thanks man it's much appreciated
Ray
raymanParticipantThanks Christoph
I've been sick so only just getting to this.
I have a couple of other issues with the site, in Chrome and Safari the slideshow displays at a significantly smaller size but in Firefox and IE is fine, any ideas what's causing that?
And is it at all possible to get rid of the bump feature of the header?
Thanks
RayraymanParticipantYES! thanks for the clarification
raymanParticipantHi Marcy
yes the overlapping is what i'm looking to change. And also to increase a bit the line height of the widget text on the homepage.
I have searched the css file but do not find anywhere 'line-height: 20px;' or any line heights in px. The 52px setting is for Titles for which the line height is 1
I've also searched for other lines you suggested like 'font-family: inherit;' & 'text-rendering: optimizelegibility;' & even 'font-weight: bold;' so I'm at a bit of a loss.
Where exactly do you see the line-height: 20px;?
thanks
for your assistanceraymanParticipantDid anyone have a solution to the original question - to make the background images responsive?
raymanParticipantThanks for pointing me in the right direction Tonya, i found the errant tag!
raymanParticipantThanks Jan, in fact removing both didn't work but removing from below the url did it ; )
raymanParticipantCould you be more specific please
raymanParticipantAfter a bunch of experimenting i finally got what he wants with this in the Headlines section
.page h1,
.post h1,
.archive h2 {
background: #eae3d9 url("image url") no-repeat left;
height: 40px;
margin: 0 0 0px -60px;
padding: 13px 0 0 80px;
}raymanParticipantThanks Ryan, i did have it in the wrong place.
raymanParticipantThanks Ryan
but sadly it didn't work. I also tried
.home-featured {
padding-top: 0;
padding-bottom: 0;
}raymanParticipantWorked a charm, thanks much
