I've installed Yoast - even though it reduces my site to a snails pace, and see if that fixes it. Perhaps deleting the offending post and reposting might do it. I don't believe it's hobsons choice - I'm sure there's a way of dealing with it, we'll see if Yoast works

Will this retain the full functionality of the theme though? Obviously I know you can get plugins.... I want to retain the themes functionality though?

I'm afraid I can't because I'm working on an ip redirect as it's not live yet 🙁 but there is a showcase site that does exactly what I want.
