Thanks for your response. After viewing that text widget in various browsers, I see that it is positioned very nicely. Rather than break what wasn't broken, I decided to modify the background image instead.
Another request: On the homepage in the same block where that text widget resides, I'd like to change the background color. However, I can't seem to determine what that area is named so that I can change the color via css. Can you tell me what it is?
Thanks again 🙂
December 11, 2014 at 4:21 am in reply to: Daily Dish: Vertically align site-header image w/ site content #134262meltdownMemberResolved. I KNEW it was something SO simple as to be easily overlooked. The header image itself, a png, had about 20px on either side that needed to be shaved off 🙂
December 11, 2014 at 2:33 am in reply to: Daily Dish: Vertically align site-header image w/ site content #134259meltdownMemberStill no luck with this. I can't imagine what it is I'm missing 🙁
In the stylesheet I've made all the adjustments I can think of but I can't get the header image to extend the full width of the containter.
meltdownMemberOh, I see now that I can make adjustments in the @media only section of my stylesheet. Grand!
meltdownMemberThank you Anne!
Now, when viewed on a mobile device, there is a large gap between the header image and the site content. How can I close that gap?
Thanks again 🙂
October 16, 2014 at 4:31 am in reply to: Jigoshop: Unhook content wrappers, replace w/ my child-themes #127971meltdownMemberI have had some success with this. Product page layouts are sorted but some main are not. For example, the "shop" page which displays all products is still throwing the theme out of whack:

October 16, 2014 at 12:16 am in reply to: Jigoshop: Unhook content wrappers, replace w/ my child-themes #127959meltdownMemberFYI: In my Genesis theme settings, I am using a 3-panel default layout (2-sidebars, one to each side of main content area).
October 11, 2014 at 2:40 am in reply to: site container pushed down for posts & search results #127459meltdownMemberI've been able to resolve this. Because I was using an image slideshow in the "Before Header" position, I needed to fix its height:
Before Header
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- */.before-header {
color: #999;
font-size: 16px;
line-height: 1;
height: 272px;
margin: 0 auto 55px;
max-width: 1200px;
text-align: center;
}.before-header .wrap {
padding: 20px 0;
}.before-header p:last-child {
margin-bottom: 0;
}meltdownMemberThat's what I was missing; the change at line 499! Plus I then increased my .content from 720px to 780px as well:
.content {
float: right;
width: 780px;
}genwrock, you made me day - thank you!
meltdownMemberI submitted a support ticket but was told that my issue was site-specific and to use Firebug to sort it. However, the adjustments needed are not specific to my site but to the theme (Daily Dish). The only variable is which default setting is selected in Genesis > Theme Settings. I've included a screenshot of the default setting I've selected:
As I said, I am using the Daily Dish theme with a 3-panel layout. The overall site-container width 1200px (content area 720px, sidebar-primary 300px, sidebar-secondary 180px).I would like to increase the content area to 780px and decrease the sidebar-primary to 240px. However, the .content area does not increase when I make these adjustments in the stylesheet.
The site can be found at: beadedlily.co.uk. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated 🙂
meltdownMemberAs this theme was not designed to have a background image, is it possible to change the opacity to create a background color to display the content?
My site is here: strangewaysemporium.com/wp/
Thank you 🙂
