Final reply below:
http://www.studiopress.community/topic/toggle-effect-appears-too-soon/melmankaMemberThen... IT IS PERFECT.
Thank you so much Brad!
I appreciate all your help very much!!!melmankaMemberDear Brad
Thanks a lot for your support so far! I experimented and the result is almost perfect - http://lukaszgor.stronazen.pl/
JUST - how to make sure that search widget with toggle effect is closed at first, when you enter the website for the first time? Currently when I open any page the search widget with toggle effect is being displayed, which is not that cool any more. This is the huge difference between WP sites and my site... 🙁
Additionally - is it possible to add 2 CSS classes instructions, so that instead of SEARCH description, an FontAwesome search icon would be shown? How to achieve it, if it is possible?
Many thanks for some final support related to this issue.
Regards
MelmankamelmankaMemberDear Brad
Many thanks! I followed all the instructions and the result is almost perfect - http://lukaszgor.stronazen.pl/
I just still have 2 issues with it:
1. How to make sure that when any page is first open the toggle effect is hidden? Currently when I open any page, the toggle effect is already active, so the SEARCH (SZUKAJ) field is already open?
2. How in this already created awesome effect replace word SEARCH (SZUKAJ) with an icon which would fit nicely next to twitter, facebook, rss icons?You truly helped me a lot already and hope you still have some patience left for this matter with me 🙂
Thank you again!
MelmankamelmankaMemberWOW, thanks! I am so excited to give it a try:-) One question - where should I put toggle.js file?
melmankaMemberDear Brad
thank you for sharing manual of "Show & Hide Widget Using jQuery Toggle". I am not sure that it is exactly what I am looking for. I do not think I need to register new widget area or kook new widget before single content, as I would like to have exactly the same cool effect, as it is on WPSITES - drop from the main menu. Which part of the code should be used, then? Additionally, I do not get much the instruction of JQuery... Do I actually need to do this step or is it not needed...?
JQuery
1.Simply create a new file named toggle.js using a code editor like Notepad++.
2.Copy the JQuery from the Gist labelled toggle.js and paste it into the new file
3.Upload the file to the root directory of your child themes folder
4.Make sure the path in the functions.php file is correct if you decide to add the file into your existing JS folder or another location.Any further support from your side would be great
Thanks either way
MelmankamelmankaMemberHello, thank you for additional info.
My site is http://lukaszgor.stronazen.pl/
It is based on METRO PRO and if I could have the same search button result as in WPsites it would be awesome. I doubt I can manage to change the coding myself, though... 🙁 It is too complicated for my capabilities in wordpress... 🙂melmankaMemberBelow is the code for CSS, if someone is interested:
.genesis-nav-menu .social-icon {
padding: 0 .4rem;
margin-top: .5rem;
}.genesis-nav-menu .social-icon.facebook {
padding-right: 0;
margin-right: -12px;
width: 0;
}melmankaMemberI managed it myself! 🙂
melmankaMemberThank you, looks complicated, though... I will take care of this issue at later stage, then.
melmankaMemberPerfect, thanks again! Awesome you've actually created a tutorial for this purpose!!!
melmankaMemberMANY THANKS!!! I will manage now 🙂
