    is it possible to load a plugin conditionally using the above plugin ? (or Wp mobile detect) ?

    So this way I could install 2 different plugin : 1 for the pull out notification for desktop + tablet & another plugin for the notification bar at the bottom & just load the one required by the user based on the device they use ?

    Hi Andrea, thanks for the info.

    My client would like to have a 1140px wide layout. Do you think there is a lot of work involved in changing the V2 child theme to 1140px ? Is it something possible without spending too many hours ?

    After reading a lot on that, I think the Multisite is a better solution. (I'm still new to that, correct me if I'm wrong)

    - Faster (smaller DB, less queries) -> Very important for me (& google)
    - Not plugin dependent, but you also have to use a plugin like Multisite Language Switcher (at least the content is not managed by the plugin)
    - Easier to clean if we have to remove a language (this could also be the case with WPML, but not qTranslate apparently)
    - You can have different content on both language if required.
    - Not a huge factor for me, but WPMU is free, while WPML is a paid plugin

    I'm just not sure about the perfect way to fully "duplicate" the site & add it on the multisite network. Any tips on that ?

    Update - 1 year later :

    I would be interested to know what solutions all of you used in the past year & what you now recommend 1 year later. Any good/bad experience using WPML or Multisite ? Other new alternative ?

    I will need to translate a site for a customer (pretty basic business site, 9 static pages, no blog) & I have to decide between WPML & Multisite. To me WPML seems quick & easy, but apparently reduce site speed a little, while Multisite looks a little overkill (2 different site to update.. etc).

    Is one option better than the other in SEO point of view ?

    Correct me if I'm wrong... :

    The CSS load after the function.PHP code. So that mean if I prevent the slider to load using CSS, the slider would still load in the background, since it is loaded by a PHP "request", but it just wont show since disabled at the very end by the display:none in the CSS.

    We would like to completely prevent the slider from loading, from the very begining, when a mobile device (phone) is detected.

    Ok, but it would still load the slider... that's not super mobile friendly (we are trying to reduce load time on mobile device) ?

    So all I need to know then is to find the appropriate DIV used by the slider & use "display: none" in the appropriate media query ?

    In fact, the "static page" choice is the problem. It seems that whatever page you choose as the static home page, the theme add 3 widget (top, cta & middle) on the page.

    I wasn't able to remove it in the front-page.php file... got a server error so I guess I'm doing something wrong.

    No link, the site is local right now

    Would it be possible to add 1 big widget that covers the full header size & then custom code right in the widget window ? (using html & div's ?)

    I want to remove them all :

    Home-Top
    Home-Call to action
    Home-Middle

    I just want the home page to be a standard page I can edit....

    That's already done.. I've set the "home" page as my static home page. But it add 2 widget on the page & remove all the text in the page itself.

    If I change the static home page for another one, it does the same... content is removed & all text/image on the page disapear ?

    Thank you for the link Susan, however I'm looking for much more than just a logo in the header... Here's what I want to do :

    Thanks for the answer, but I'm looking for a banner at the end of the articles, right under the text, not in a sidebar. (New to php, so I'm assuming your code is for a sidebar banner ?)

    I'm interested in that question as well, what about loading time as extensive customizations = a lot of duplicate CSS.... ? Should we simply create a "new" custom child theme using some of the code from an already made child theme ?

    Ok after all these change I was able to have the slider only on the homepage, but position of the slider is wrong. I want it to be between the menu & the main content.

    see : http://www.graphical-media.com/abat2013 (beta site)

    Code I'm using :`/** Change header height */
    add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array( 'width' => 960, 'height' => 180 ) );

    // ADD SOLILOQUY SLIDER**//
    function soliloquy_slider_header_home() {
    if (is_front_page() ) {
    echo do_shortcode('[soliloquy id="4402"]');
    }
    };
    add_action('genesis_header', 'soliloquy_slider_header_home');

    function wpsitesdotnet_soliloquy_slider_header() {if ( function_exists( 'soliloquy_slider' ) ) soliloquy_slider( '4402' );};`

    Any idea how to solve that ?

    Thanks for the quick reply Anitac

    Followed the instruction in the link provided (removed the code in the function.php file of my child theme) but it didnt work. I also made sure the option : "include the featured image" is NOT checked in the Genesis theme option.

    None of these work. I still have a large image above the post title.
