MemberI ended up with the BLOG being the BLOG template and the HOME page is set to DEFAULT TEMPLATE as I don't see a HOME page template with this theme.

MemberThis solved it for me. If you go to Appearance > Themes > Customize, click on the "Static Front Page" tile on the left and under "Posts Page" change it from BLOG to --Select-- and the BLOG page showed up on my page properly!!!

MemberI figured out the BLOG thing. If you go to Appearance > Themes > Customize, click on the "Static Front Page" tile on the left and under "Posts Page" change it from BLOG to --Select-- and the BLOG page showed up properly!!!
I still haven't figured out the main question though.

MemberI just noticed that now the BLOG page is showing the slide show no matter what template I use on it. I don't have anything typed on the blog page, but for some reason it it showing the WP-Cycle slide show. And the worst part is it's showing properly with no title and the home page is still showing the title! UGH!!!
I've tried changing the templates to both pages several times, back and forth and no change no matter what to the BLOG page, but if I change the HOME page to the Archive template it will show the Archive, but the BLOG page will not change no matter what.

MemberI just searched and found you have to put [wp_cycle] on the page where you want the slideshow to appear. Gotta say, that would be nice information to include in the instructions.
I'm not a big fan of this plug in as it doesn't have any controls to go to the next image etc so I'll probably put it back, but even when I'm using the recommended slide show plug in and it still says "HOME" on the home page.

MemberOkay, so removed the slide show I had in there, installed the plug-in and uploaded a few pictures into it, but I can't see in the instructions how to put the new slide show on the home page.
I also think the plug-in has changed because the screen caps on the page you referenced aren't exactly the same any more. You actually have to go to "Media" to get to the plug-in options now, it's no longer directly under Plug-in. That actually made me think I could insert it into the page like inserting media, but I don't see it there either.
I've got to say though that even with the slide-show removed it still says "HOME" which makes me think it has nothing to do with which slide show plug-in I choose.
Any idea what to do next?

MemberHas anyone solved this issue? I'm having the exact same problem at this website http://dev.idstudiosinc.com/blog

MemberI just followed the instructions for Google Authorship from Amy Lynn's blog. I'm new to Google+ so it was extremely painful. I probably spent at least 7 hours on it yesterday, but I think I got that squared away and got myself verified on two of the blogs I work on. Two others are Joomla so I'll have to look around and find instructions on that somewhere, but that's another story, on another post for another website.
The link I was talking about though, isn't exactly regarding authorship. When you create a business page there is an option to verify the website on your profile. In order to verify the website you have to put special code on the home page and then hit "verify" on the Google+ website and it will look for the code and then put a check mark next to the website saying it's verified. I ended up putting the link as a widget and it worked.

MemberI tried the instructions, but it didn't work. His instructions say to edit the Function.php file which shouldn't be updated using Prose. I'm sure it's supposed to be copied and pasted into the Custom Code section but I tried pasting it in the "Custom Functions" section and it didn't work.
Maybe someone here can give me more explicit directions? I'm kind of new at WordPress so I need a little more guidance.

MemberBut I am using the Prose theme and this describes adding a widget area to a different theme. Would it work for Prose as well?
lliillaa
MemberYes, I have the Prose theme.

MemberOops, one more thing. I don't understand the "style it using CSS. Where do I put that code?

MemberThank you for copying and pasting the information, but just to be certain, I actually manually add this to the bottom of the functions.php file of the child theme even though it states at the top of the file not to make changes to it under any circumstances? I can't add it using the Custom Code portion of the Genesis settings?

MemberThis is what I have so far:

MemberI'd like the same slider on the home page but with my most recent blog posts under.
I've seen a child theme like the grant-properties.com website kpgdimension mentioned above. If I were you, kpgdimension, I'd ask if I could change from the Prose theme to the Outreach theme because I'm beginning to think it's not possible. I want a bit of a hybrid with the Slider on top and the blog under, but only on the home page and it seems to be either undoable or some sort of mystery.

MemberI really want to do this. Area you saying the only way you could figure it out is to buy and use Thesis instead of Genesis. I'm pretty new at WordPress and need a little more assistance. Is this possible to do?
