Thanks Brad,
Not that I don't appreciate the time it took to make this but I was hoping for a free solution seeing that I'm already a member of the Genesis community and this seems to be something that should be provided by support, in my opinion.Anyone else?
leepettijohnMemberMy pleasure!
In the "Theme Settings" section when you create a new post there is a field for "Custom Redirect URL"
I'm wondering if there is a way that you can set that to open in a different window / tab
leepettijohnMemberHi Susan,
No, I never heard any information on this. Thanks for your help.leepettijohnMemberNevermind. Found it. =)
For anyone searching for the answer:
You can use the filter 'genesis_search_title_output' to customize the look of the header.
You can also use get_search_query() to return the value of what was searched for.Sample Code:
add_filter( ‘genesis_search_title_output’, ‘my_custom_search_title’ ); function my_custom_search_title( $title ) { $prefix = “Search Results for: “; $suffix = “”; $title = sprintf( ‘<h1 class=”entry-title”>%s%s%s</h1>’, $prefix, get_search_query(), $suffix ); return $title; }
Thanks to Jason Van Divier for providing the answer - http://www.studiopress.community/topic/customize-search-results-title/#post-80624
leepettijohnMemberDid you get an answer to this? Would love to know how to manipulate the search header text.
Thanks.
leepettijohnMemberHi. Me again. OK I figured out how to do it but it overrides the settings in the Slider Settings which I'm not too happy about, but at least I found a work around.
add_filter( 'get_the_content_more_link', 'new_read_more_link' ); function new_read_more_link() { return '<a class="more-link" href="' . get_permalink() . '">Learn More</a>'; }
Just make sure you remove the [...] from the return or add in anything else you want.
Hope this helps someone else.
Cheers.
leepettijohnMemberI thought I figured out how to do this by using a filter on the_content_limit but it can't find the ellipses to replace.
I even added code to try and find it instead of replacing.
I've tried
- &hellip
- [&hellip]
- …
- […]
Nothing is working!!!
add_filter( 'the_content_limit', 'remove_ellipsis' ); function remove_ellipsis( $text ) { $ellipwhere = strpos($text,'…'); $nohellip = str_replace('…', 'HERE',$text); return $nohellip ; }
Could really use some help, please!!!
leepettijohnMemberStill having so much trouble with this and I can only assume it's fairly simple.
These are the links to the solutions I've tried and to no avail.

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/remove-three-dots-after-content-limitThese are the ellipses I'm trying to get rid of.
leepettijohnMemberNo, they are still there at the end of the excerpt on the slide text.
leepettijohnMemberI got the issue to work, but I added this to the "Header and Footer Scripts" in the Genesis Theme Settings.
<script type="text/javascript">SetToToday('FirstSelect');</script>
If there is an answer to the reason different themes work differently, I would love to know.
Thanks.
leepettijohnMember=P Nevermind. Needed to add the do_shortcode function. Thanks for the help. =)
Cheers.
leepettijohnMember//* Customize the entry meta in the entry footer add_filter( 'genesis_post_meta', 'sp_post_meta_filter' ,20); function sp_post_meta_filter( $post_meta ) { $post_meta = '[post_date] [post_author_posts_link] [post_categories before=""] [post_comments]'; return $post_meta; }
leepettijohnMemberHello,
Can you tell me if this code still works. I "forced" the issue also and got the code to work, but the shortcodes aren't working.leepettijohnMemberWorked like a charm. Thanks Davinder!!!
leepettijohnMemberOK, now I have another SNAFU. It works on the Crystal Theme but not the Agency-Pro theme. It turns the quotes into HTML code. Any ideas why?
leepettijohnMemberI GOT IT!!! YAY!!! Here's the solution I found. It's a little different and adds a variable to include the apostrophes before FirstSelect. Hope this helps everyone
add_filter( 'body_class', 'my_body_class' ); function my_body_class( $classes ) { $fs = "'FirstSelect'"; $classes[] = '" onLoad="SetToToday('.$fs.');" '; return $classes; }
leepettijohnMemberHi Juliet,
Did you ever figure this out?Thanks
leepettijohnMemberRock the Casj Bah!!! Thanks.
leepettijohnMemberAny other thoughts? Thanks
leepettijohnMemberYup, that's in the CSS file
I'm referring to line 47 on the home page in the source info. It's adding !important to that line.
