The theme I am using is the Inspired Theme. It has a "homepage" but I am not using it.
I just have the front page set to "blog" ... Is that causing the problem?

One more question for you ...
Now that I have one full post add then excerpts I still want to use the "show featured imaged" function so that the excerpts have a featured image thumbnail. .. .BUT then the image on the first post show ups twice (the featured image and also the image that was inserted to the post)

Now that I have one full post showing and then excepts would it be possible to insert a graphic after the first post but before the excerpts that says "recently on southern revivals."

I don't see setting option in the grid loop to only show the image and title? I only see how many and what size photo...
I just installed the genesis grid loop plugin.

This is what I want. I am using the metro theme.
I want the home page to have one full post. And then 4 excerpts.
(I was thinking I could use two genesis featured post widgets)

Then I want the recipe index to just have the title and the post photo.

The problem is that in order to have the image show up on the recipe index I have to have the "show featured image" option checked in the theme settings. But then it messes up the regular posts on the front page.

So what is your advice how can I accomplish. One full post on the home page with 4 excerpts under. Then on the recipe index page have only the post title and featured image.

Oh sorry I didn't add any new code. I just erased the line from the php which was unregistering the layout option in genesis ...

genesis_unregister_layout( 'content-sidebar' );

And then I went to the genesis settings and chose the content sidebar option.

updated :: I figured it out. I deactivated all the plugins and the live preview worked fine. So I went ahead and activated the design.
