Thanks for this, Brad! I will give it a whirl. I ended up replacing the home and function.php with the ones from the Adorable theme. It did what I needed it to do, but I'm definitely gonna check this out and see how you did it, so I can learn!

<?php
/** Add home top widget area */
add_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'blissful_home_top' );
function blissful_home_top() {
dynamic_sidebar( 'home-top' );
}if ( is_active_sidebar( 'home-middle-left' ) || is_active_sidebar( 'home-middle-right' ) ) {
echo '<div id="home-middle-right"><div class="border wrap">';
echo '<div class="home-middle-left">';
dynamic_sidebar( 'home-middle-left' );
echo '</div><!-- end .home-middle-left -->';echo '<div class="home-middle-right">';
dynamic_sidebar( 'home-middle-right' );
echo '</div><!-- end .home-middle-right -->';echo '</div><!-- end .border wrap --></div><!-- end #home-middle-right -->';
}

I tried it and now have widgets above the content and header (I am trying to put two, side-by-side, below the slider -- I haven't added the CSS yet, because I'm trying to get the php straightened out first.)

The issue I'm running into is that the Blissful home.php code looks different from the examples I'm seeing.
Karla Archer
archercreative.comkarlaarcherMemberThanks SoZo -- I ended up putting [post_categories] [post_tags] in the post info.
I then, to the CSS, I added:
.post-info .categories, .post-meta .tags {
display: block;
padding: 0;
}Issue solved. I was totally over thinking this... (as usual...)
Thanks for the help and patience, y'all!

I ended up putting [post_comments] in the meta tag. Issue solved. I was totally over thinking this...
Karla Archer
archercreative.comkarlaarcherMemberThat's what I added last night, but it didn't show up.
The thing is, I'd just a link that says 'leave a comment' at the end of each post on the homepage and on the blog page that takes you to the individual post page. Right now, on the home page there is nothing below the post and my client is requesting that specifically.
http://www.graspingforobjectivity.com/ is the link.
Karla Archer
archercreative.comkarlaarcherMemberI added the Comments Policy Box code (below) to the functions and edited it (my client really just wants a call to action to leave a comment; doesn't have to link) but it's not showing.
/** Add a comment policy box */
add_action(
'genesis_after_comments'
,
'single_post_comment_policy'
);
function
single_post_comment_policy() {
if
( is_single() && !is_user_logged_in() && comments_open() ) {
?>
<div
class
=
"comment-policy-box"
>
<p
class
=
"comment-policy"
><small><strong>Comment Policy:</strong>Your words are your own, so be nice
and
helpful
if
you can. Please, only
use
your real name
and
limit the amount of links submitted in your comment. We accept clean XHTML in comments, but don't overdo it please.</small></p>
</div>
<?php
}
}
Karla Archer
archercreative.comkarlaarcherMemberI added
remove_action(‘genesis_after_post_content’, ‘genesis_post_meta’);
add_action(‘genesis_after_post_title’, ‘genesis_post_meta’);add_action(‘genesis_after_post_title’, ‘genesis_post_meta’, 5);
and it's still at the bottom of the posts.
(I appreciate your help SoZo!!)
Karla Archer
archercreative.comkarlaarcherMemberkarlaarcherMemberYes -- I want both below the post title: Post title, post info, post meta
I only added the code that iDavinder posted above. I didn't remove or add anything else.
Karla Archer
archercreative.comkarlaarcherMemberkarlaarcherMemberah yes - two conditions. Makes sense.
I still don't see the categories, above or below...
Karla Archer
archercreative.comkarlaarcherMemberThanks, SoZo -- I added that back in -- have never seen a }} (that I recall). It didn't break, but it didn't move it before the post. It's gone: http://client8.archercreative.com/
Karla Archer
archercreative.comkarlaarcherMemberThanks, idavinder!
I tried that (after removing the second } at the end, and it didn't work -- it must be missing something -- It breaks the site.
