Glad to be of help, you can mark this discussion "resolved" if you haven't already

joycegraceParticipantSorry I couldn't offer more of a resource. I think you'd have to get into some pretty techy stuff to change the URLs otherwise.
Be careful with Better WP Security for a while it was causing A LOT of errors in my Webmaster Tools and Google could not crawl my site. I found out it has to do with the "intrusion detection" settings. Just a tip, not sure if it will happen to you as well.

joycegraceParticipantI have already tested it in Firebug - that's where I got that from - it's all on one line, probably near the top of your CSS file.

It's really hard for me to tell on a PC, sorry. You'd have to target the div class or id that you want to stack.

April 11, 2013 at 9:56 pm in reply to: How do I place a reference to a file in the head section of my website? #34913joycegraceParticipantUnder theme settings, at the bottom there is a place to enter header and footer scripts.
Or you can install Genesis Simple Hooks and add things to the head using that, it's very simple.
But if these are font files you probably want to create an @font-embed using something like fontsquirrel.com to convert all the files for use on Web browsers first. When you create that package, in the download, there are very clear instructions on how to get it set up in your CSS file.

joycegraceParticipantHi,
I think the only way around this is to set up your featured images at the design stage to be the size of the featured image setting on the home page. Then you would put another image on your actual post, that has been set to be the width of the post content area, and whatever height you want.
But if you want to change the width and height of the home page featured image boxes, you can do that in the functions.php file and as well in your css file. It should be very obvious where the image sizes are in the functions.php file, then you need to use Firebug to find the class to adjust it in your css as well.

joycegraceParticipantHi Can you explain how you want the links to appear? And what do you mean that links are not "wrapping" properly?
One plugin that may be of help here is "Advanced Excerpt" - I use this to control what types of HTML formatting show on the excerpts and which ones don't. This might actually be exactly what you are looking for. For example, without this plugin, an h2 title would not appear formatted as an h2 title in post excerpts. But by installing this plugin and setting up to NOT remove formatting for h2 tags, the h2 styles will appear on post excerpts. (Though, one thing to note that can get annoying later is that I always set it to remove <img> tags so that images don't show up on post excerpts, and instead only the featured image shows in its spot. )
Not sure about the character settings, but try clearing cache and cookies and refresh your browser to see again. If you have a caching plugin installed I would remove that while you are doing your site build. If you have caching on a hosting server level, find out how to purge the cache.

joycegraceParticipantI don't have the files open with me to say for sure, but if you make a backup first, test it by removing that section from the functions.php file, should work.

joycegraceParticipantWhy don't you add two "Genesis Featured Page" widgets - one can have 1 post and not be offset by any dates, showing full content. Then put another widget beneath that and set it to offset by 1, and limit the content length.

You wouldn't need to change the position of "mobile" in the CSS file, that doesnt' do anything. You need to add or change the styles themselves in the @media section of the CSS

April 11, 2013 at 9:11 pm in reply to: How to have slider size on Manhattan theme same size like Landscape theme #34903joycegraceParticipantCan you link to your site? We can't really help in instances like this when you don't link to your site.
You may need to modify CSS in the area you are placing the WP Cycle slider.
You still need to set up the size in WP Cycle. If your images remain smaller after you do this, you need to install "regenerate thumbnails" plugin and regenerate your thumbnails so the size of images will fit in the size you assigned to WP Cycle.
But if your images were too small to begin with before you uploaded them, then you need to upload bigger files.

joycegraceParticipantHi,
Whoever was trying to help you was looking at the demo theme online at demo.studiopress.com/agentpress and not your actual site.
I would target this in your css file:
body, h1, h2, h2 a, h2 a:visited, h3, h4, h5, h6, p, input, select, textarea
And add:
margin: 20px; (or however many pixels you want) to stop the content from going to the edges.

April 11, 2013 at 9:05 pm in reply to: How to Increase the limit of adding content in "Archive intro text" area #34901joycegraceParticipantIf you can not add more tags it sounds like you might have a memory issue...I would contact your host about this. They may be placing limits on your database or something.
If the tags pertain in particular to the WooCommerce products I would ask them about it but only after you've contacted your host.
Also, this might be a question for the WordPress.org forums - have you tried googling the solution? If it is a WordPress issue it probably has come up before on the wordpress.org forums.

April 11, 2013 at 9:00 pm in reply to: How to make Header & Nav Menu Full Width but Content fixed? #34900joycegraceParticipantHi cleveden8,
You have multiple options, but the easiest is probably to create a background like this http://www.schooliseasy.com/wp-content/themes/agency/images/bg.png and tile it on the x axis across the background infinitely.
If you look up schooliseasy.com on Firebug you should see how this was accomplished with CSS.
Find me at Joyce Grace (http://www.joycegrace.ca)
joycegraceParticipantNot sure if this helpful (not exactly clear what you're trying to do) but I think you are missing "background" details in that code. There is nothing to spin image-wise, essentially.
Find me at Joyce Grace (http://www.joycegrace.ca)
joycegraceParticipantAn easy solution to this would be to make sure every post is assigned to the same tag at least once. Then you could link to that tag archive to show all your blog posts.
Or if you are trying to show a tag cloud, that would be different, there might be a plugin for this.
If you just want a list of tags you have created, I would create this with WordPress menus. There may also be a plugin for this.

joycegraceParticipantHi Steve,
I get a lot of help from W3Schools: http://www.w3schools.com/css/
"font-color" is not really a CSS style. "Color" is and it refers to the font colour (I'm Canadian so I only spell it 'wrong' when using CSS 🙂
What you'd want to do is find out what type of text you want to style in the home sections. So for example, if you want to style <p> text, which is paragraph text, you would go like this:
#home-sections p {
color: #f5f5f5;
}
And so on. Same goes for styling <a> links, or header tags <h1>, <h2> etc.
You can see what type of text each area is by installing Firebug as an add-on to Firefox and using that to target styles.
Chrome developer tools can do this too, and Safari has "inspect element" but I prefer Firebug on Firefox myself.

joycegraceParticipantHi YippyMomma,
If I were you I would install WordPress SEO by Yoast and "disable" the author archives. They are not that useful for SEO anyway, and can actually be harmful since they are full of duplicate content.
If you can link to your site that might help too.
If you are having problems with hackers, it could be that your passwords are not strong enough (very common problem, probably a bigger problem than your usernames). You should be coming up with passwords similar to what would be generated by strongpasswordgenerator.com. I also use this site to generate usernames, for extra precaution.
You also should get rid of the author ID "1" - if you install Better WP Security, it can do this for you easily (but be careful not to use settings in that plugin you are not familiar with)
This plugin can also rename you database table prefixes and hide your backend login urls, so they are no longer at /wp-admin or /wp-login, and so on.
It also does other things, like it can show a random version number to all logged in users, and other security precautions.
Just use the plugin with caution. If you don't know how to "undo" some things that might affect your site, you would have a hard time. Always do a backup before you install any plugin. In fact you should have VaultPress or BackupBuddy installed and running at all times in any case.

joycegraceParticipantHello Bill, thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it.
This may sound like a dumb question but are you saying that schema.org and open graph can't be used together? Or just that the Yoast open graph in particular causes problems with schema.org markup?
About the locale, I do have the en_CA defined in my wp-config file, it still doesn't seem to be 'catching' it when I use Google's rich snippet testing tool 🙁
