It did, thanks 🙂 The only problem is I think something is wrong in my css:
.site-header { background-color: #fff; border-bottom: 12px solid #1e318b; position: relative; display: inline-block; margin-top: 3.75em; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 15px 5px -15px #1e318b; -moz-box-shadow: 0 15px 5px -15px #1e318b; box-shadow: 0 15px 5px -15px #1e318b; } .site-header:before { content: ''; position: absolute; left: 0; bottom: 6px; width: 100%; height: 5px; background: #63b120; }
because now it's displaying to the left and not all the way across the page like it did before. Not sure what exactly is wrong. I tried playing around with the code
jmamuzichMemberThank you for the suggestion! I am trying to do it with pure css but I might do this if I can't figure it out. Thanks again!

jmamuzichMemberHello,
I'm still trying to figure this out. Would really like to avoid using another plugin if possible. Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated 🙂
thanks,
Jaclyn
jmamuzichMemberI think you might find what you are looking for here: http://www.rickrduncan.com/wordpress/remove-genesis-page-titles
jmamuzichMemberChanged
remove_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'genesis_do_sidebar', 'do_sidebar', 'trestle_get_arden_sidebar' );
To
remove_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'genesis_do_sidebar' );now it works 🙂
jmamuzichMemberOk I got it to register two different sidebars so far. However, the primary sidebar is still showing on one of the pages and I'm not sure why. This is the code i have:
//* Register new sidebar for the blog and posts genesis_register_sidebar( array( 'id' => 'custom-blog-sidebar', 'name' => 'Custom Blog Sidebar', 'description' => 'This is the sidebar for the Blog', ) ); add_action('get_header','custom_blog_sidebar'); function custom_blog_sidebar() { if ( is_home() || is_archive() || is_single() ) { remove_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'genesis_do_sidebar' ); add_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'do_sidebar' ); } } function do_sidebar() { genesis_widget_area( 'custom-blog-sidebar' ); } // Register a new sidebar for Arden Caravan genesis_register_sidebar( array( 'id' => 'arden-sidebar', 'name' => 'Arden Sidebar', 'description' => 'This is the arden caravans sidebar widget area' ) ); add_action('get_header','trestle_sidebar_logic'); function trestle_sidebar_logic() { if ( is_page('3747') ) { remove_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'genesis_do_sidebar' ); add_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'trestle_get_arden_sidebar' ); } } function trestle_get_arden_sidebar() { genesis_widget_area( 'arden-sidebar' ); } // Register a new sidebar for Carmichael Caravan genesis_register_sidebar( array( 'id' => 'carmichael-sidebar', 'name' => 'Carmichael Sidebar', 'description' => 'This is the carmichael caravans sidebar widget area' ) ); add_action('get_header','trestle_sidebar_carmichael'); function trestle_sidebar_carmichael() { if ( is_page('3769') ) { remove_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'genesis_do_sidebar', 'do_sidebar', 'trestle_get_arden_sidebar' ); add_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'trestle_get_carmichael_sidebar' ); } } function trestle_get_carmichael_sidebar() { genesis_widget_area( 'carmichael-sidebar' ); }
I need to register 4 or 5 sidebars similar to the carmichael and arden ones.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
jmamuzichMemberSorry I have one more question: If I need to register additional sidebars of the same type, how would I do so? I realized I need different information for my caravans sections and there are 6 different ones - so I guess I need a separate sidebar for each. I tried registering them using the same type of code with different names and the different page #'s but it wasn't right because I couldn't access the widget area in the backend anymore - just the white screen of death.
thanks
jmamuzichMemberThat worked perfectly! Thank you so much 🙂
jmamuzichMemberI don't think it matters currently since I don't have it set up but it's here: http://162.144.99.26/~sacrealt/
jmamuzichMemberThanks to NutsandBolts for the solution:
After registering my sidebar:
add_action('get_header','custom_blog_sidebar');
function custom_blog_sidebar() {
if ( is_home() || is_single() ) {
remove_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'genesis_do_sidebar' );
add_action( 'genesis_sidebar', 'do_sidebar' );
}
}jmamuzichMemberWorked perfectly. Thank you SO MUCH! I couldn't remember how to write it out for more than one 😉
You're a lifesaver!

jmamuzichMemberHi Nuts and Bolts,
I was wondering what the snippet of code for this would be to register it on the blog and single posts?
Thanks in advance,
Jaclyn
jmamuzichMemberSusan,
Thank you for the suggestion, but I'm trying to do it without having to use a plugin.
thanks
jmamuzichMemberinventyou,
I just looked at your site on my iPhone and I had no trouble seeing that option. If you seem to be having trouble in other views, you can use the media queries to target that specific size in the css.
jmamuzichMemberYou'll need FTP info to download the files which includes a password.
jmamuzichMemberJust a thought: Could the fact that some of my category pages be empty links have anything to do with it? I have my 'about' 'members' and 'consumers' pages set up that way.
jmamuzichMemberWhoops, boy is my face red, haha. Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I don't have that option checkmarked.
Thanks so much for responding
jmamuzichMemberThank you for the suggestions. I see a blank spot for the category base option in the Yoast SEO permalinks settings but I'm not sure what should go there. ?
jmamuzichMemberThank you :0)
jmamuzichMemberSridhar,
Thank you for your suggestion, I will try it out.
