Ok so I see now that the link does not appear at the bottom of the full post, only on the homepage excerpt (i am using display full content) because I do not have a title on that particular post. SO WordPress seems to be adding the permalink in b/c there is no title to click on the post. I still want to remove it, will I have to do that through PHP? r acn I use Genesis simple edits?

Thanks SavvyJackie! That's what I'm looking at but I can't find an element for the header image file itself to edit....or maybe I don't know what I'm looking for ha! Still trying...

I totally agree with you on the fold problem, but that's just the way it's going to be for this particular site. Also, it works for the subject matter of the site, so it will be ok I think. : ) Thanks!

Thanks for the response! I can't share the URL right now though. That site is interesting, and I did already check it on an iphone and ipad so I know it's not working. I just need to figure out what areas in the css I need to change the header image height to so it appears correctly everywhere, thanks!

Thanks! I decided I want the background image to appear underneath all the text and widget areas as well so I removed the code about the #inner. I would also like the background image to appear under the top of the header image/menu (so the menu items do not have a white background. What code can I add for that to happen? My header image file base layer is transparent so it should show through, correct?

    Thanks!

Is there something I can add to this code to have the featured image appear in the posts on the homepage as well, instead of just the archive?

Alternately, how can I make the text space shorter vertically? I only need enough room for one line of text on each slide so I want the box to reflect that instead of looking too large. Thanks!
