Answers. It sounds like your CSS files may be getting cached. Try clearing the cache within your browser by performing a hard-refresh you can usually do this with CTRL+F5 or SHIFT+F5 or by explicitly going into the browser settings a clearing out your cache temporary files.

If you want your posts to show up on the home page and WordPress isn't already doing this for you, here's how you do it. In the WordPress admin, go to Settings > Reading. Find the section called Your homepage displays and select the Your latest posts option. Click the Save Changes button and go back to your home page.

Now you can log in to your WordPress admin area and create or edit a post. Scroll down a little on the post edit screen, and you will notice a new 'Template' panel or 'Post Attributes' meta box with an option to select the template. You will see your 'Featured Article' custom template listed there.

WordPress comes with a built-in default widget to display recent posts in your site's sidebar or any widget-ready area. In your WordPress dashboard go to Appearance Widgets and add the Latest Posts' widget block to your sidebar. You can then customize the appearance of your recent posts in the sidebar.
