I tried this...and something very similar. But they didn't seem to work.

Add Back Return To Top Link In Genesis Footer

    It's the LifeStyle Pro Theme.

    Victor...thanks for the reply.

And actually, that page in the article link you gave...is what I want to do.

In that article, there is an example blog page with a menu that includes the page called "No Sidebar" and it simply has what looks like a group of Posts nicely arranged. That's all I want to do.

I don't know if this is some gallery plug-in, a widget, etc.

Do you know how this was done maybe?

    Thanks!

Not sure where to implement that?

I'd like to create a page, then on that page...drop in a Featured Posts Widget for example.

I don't want the widget to reside in a sidebar, footer,etc...on this new page.

    Yep....worked perfect.
I knew someone out there had a simple way to do this.

    Thanks a lot!

I meant to show the real HTML code...but the bullets showed up.

But the example I showed is shown here:

Yep...worked perfect....I didn't look down far enough in the Widgets area to see that one. I was looking at the Recent Posts widget.

    Thanks again Brad...

    Thanks for the input...

Host Gator...Dreamhost....so much good and bad to read. So who knows. But I think you're right...I just keep reading and asking and I know I'll get a feel for a few...then pick one. And in the end, it still may not be the right one. That's why I wonder if I should just stay put.

Man, I just looked at that EIG list...they own a ton of them...even mine...iPowerWeb! Didn't know that. That maybe is why they're all the same!

Ok...It's a crap shoot. Maybe I just stay with iPower even though, like I said, they never show up in the "Top Web Hosting" reviews and sites.

Every time I look at reviews from the "top" web hosting companies, people say the same thing about all of them.

    Horrible hosting...
    Horrible support...
    Problems doing this...doing that...
Wish I never moved to this host...
    etc....

I just looked at eHost.com because it shows up a lot at the top. Reviews had a ton of bashing.

Maybe it's simply that most people who are O.K. with any given host don't write reviews...whereas people who have problems are quit to bash.

Thanks Susan. WpEngine seems more expensive than what I'm looking for. I'm guessing it's a higher tier hosting?

This is tough...many different rankings have many different hosting companies! I'm just looking for a reliable service with US based support that is responsive. Funny thing, I have iPower right now...and have had very few problems over a number of years. However, one time my site was hacked about 3 years ago and the support people really had no solution. I had to figure it out myself which I thought was ridiculous. But hardly any downtime at all...very, very little. And yet, iPower does not appear in any top rankings at all. Maybe I'm lucky.

Thanks for the input...I'll look at Site 5 too.

I see InMotion showing up high in a lot of the rankings too. I'll probably look at them and hopefully someone out there can comment on them...if they've had good or bad experiences with them.

Thanks for the reply...good to know.

I'll try to dig up some more info on Bluehost...they come up high on rankings but it might take time to drop if things might not be as good now.

This is not easy...many people use different hosting services...hard to know what is really good.

    Hi!

Yeah...I eventually installed the Plugin Display Widgets...which works really, really well. It did exactly what I wanted. I try to not depend on a Widget for some things...because someday...they might not work for some reason, like not compatible with a new version, etc... But, I read a lot of good things about that widget, so I figured I'd try it and deal with anything later on as it occurred. Hopefully the widget will function for a good while.

    Hi...

I put that piece of code in...it didn't seem to work. The page stayed the same.

When people create a "Static" Home Page, I see some of them have what looks like a regular page...without the Primary Side bar. That's the look I'm trying to get on the Home Page.

    Thanks again...

    Thanks for getting back.

I looked at the front-page.php file. Is there any particular place where it matters to put the code you mentioned in the front-page file?

Thanks for getting back to me on this.

The only thing is...I've already installed WordPress a while ago like I described above. So I was hoping I didn't to to uninstall or delete anything. Sounds like I'd have to start over? I don't know how risky this would be as far as how the current blog looks.
