Thanks Victor - it seems it was far more simple than I expected.

They aren't spam or hacks. I do think one of those is now a defunct link as the image is broken when I try to view it.
My hastebin codey for the Genesis theme is here..

I've Googled this to death and I'm posting here as a last resort as no one seems to be able to resolve this.
Davinder - I can't install the child theme because it breaks the whole thing and I'm locked out. Hence why I'm now testing via the live preview. I don't have ftp.
I have tried it with the basic Genesis theme and downloaded it again. I have tried everything without the plugins.
Does anyone know what piece of code is causing this and how to resolve it please?
February 11, 2014 at 7:03 am in reply to: Please help me with – Fatal error: Cannot redeclare _verify_activate_widget() #89780guitarioMemberI have deleted and re-downloaded both genesis and balance themes from studiopress. So it's nothing their end. I also have both running together on http://www.psycholocrazy.com without any issues.
Both domains are running on the same dreamhost servers.
I really can't think why it's doing it on one domain but not the other..
August 7, 2013 at 1:17 pm in reply to: Problem with featured post excerpt.. help needed please? #54665guitarioMemberGo into the post and edit it via the html tab - look along the top for the 'more' tag and click that where you want the except to end.
Either that or just add <!--more--> manually. For example, to cut the excerpt off at the end of the capital 'BLAHH'...
'blah blah blahhhhhhhh blah blah blaaaahhhhh
blaaaah blah blah blah blah blaaaaah BLAHH
<!--more-->
Blah bLahhh blaaahhhI hope that makes sense.
guitarioMemberThank you - I do tend to look for the most difficult solution instead of actually looking through the menus first..
guitarioMemberThanks Brad that worked a treat!
One last thing while you're here... How can I create a bit more white stuff after the banner? It seems very squashed against the top of my post where the date is and the heading on my sidebar.
You've been a great help
Jamie
guitarioMemberWait, scrap the first part of that. It's because I have a lot of white space in the image header... I think...
guitarioMemberHey Brad that worked great. One thing though, now that I have placed my banner ad there, there is a large white space between the ad and the header image/top menu.
I will leave it there for you to have a look. Do you know how to reduce this, and to also leave a little white space between the bottom of the ad and the top of the post?
Thanks
Jamie

I do have that option in the child theme but it's actually set to 'excerpt' not 'display post content' so that's obviously not the solution.
I have looked in every possible location and there simply isn't an option to copy what is being done on the demo. Surely though if it's in the demo, it should be an option in the child theme?
As for that online casino thing - it's been there ever since I signed up to WordPress and it's there with every theme I have tried - no idea why it's there or how to locate the actual link in the back end..
