ParticipantScratch this question. I just saw it in real life. Probably an activate/deactivate action. Do you use the simple hooks plugin with the plain genesis plugin? Or just one?
And please, if anything moves from this thread, take me with you. I'm just getting a good start.

ParticipantI'm doing as you suggested -- starting by simply putting something in a hook box to see where it turns up! It's working better and better!
Thank you again for the encouragement.

ParticipantA wonderful woman posted this in the old forum
<?php
// Template Name: noTitle
// Remove the page title
remove_action( 'genesis_post_title', 'genesis_do_post_title' );genesis();
I can't get in there to get her name and give her credit, but the little php works for me. I upload the save php page to the theme and schzam I have a different page template that says no title. I suppose you could name it something cuter, but I'm the one who sees it.
I've done the quick and dirty method of leaving the page title blank. You can change the permalink. But, if there are very many, keeping track of them leads to stress (that's putting it mildly).

ParticipantWe share the opinion about Genesis. And that fast, solid, dependable, (even if not too much bling) is what I want to offer. A basic website that is functional, but not totally ugly. I enjoy tinkering with the css to get a little more unique. I'm going to push on those hooks because I sometimes need something there.
Maybe one of these days I'll wake up with a php revelation and be more comfortable working in the php files.
Thanks again for the encouragement.

ParticipantThank you, Ron. I'll keep trying. I have used Hooks in Thesis before and prefer to work with them, even though sometimes the 'physics' escapes me. I just haven't had any success with Genesis yet.

ParticipantHave you looked into something like ejunkie.com? It works for digital and 'real' products and perhaps services. I haven't used it for a product of mine for several years, but I do have an affiliate account that connects to other people/businesses.

ParticipantI've had success with Gravity forms when I use a custom CSS editor. Gravity's forums are extremely helpful as well.

ParticipantThank you! I have just gotten to the point where I want to try to 'create' my own child theme. Your beautiful Nameless theme will be an inspiration. I will credit your art in this theme whenever I use it.

ParticipantThank you. These tips worked great. I chose #FFCC00, more of a gold shade and enlarged the font by one point. A couple little things that seem to work for me.
