Worked Perfect! - thanks Chris, much appreciated:)
fotodog13ParticipantI am looking for the answer to this as well- I made the change to line 4 but when you change the browser window size it reverts back to the tall image.
How do you prevent that and have the image display correctly on other size devices?December 22, 2014 at 7:31 am in reply to: Add JumpLink ( anchor text link ) on a tabbed page ? #135056fotodog13ParticipantThanks Brad- Unfortunately that doesn't work.
I think because this is a tabbed page it does not recognize the anchor.
I tried several variations placing the anchor above the H3, in hte H3, and after the H3 but none work.
I think it probably is because the page is tabbed -fotodog13ParticipantHi Lauren
Thanks for the reply-
So I used enqueue- and added an action hook to my functions php file for that-
If I look at my source code on the site do you know if I would see the js referenced there.I am wondering if I added the enqueue correctly ( site seems to be working correctly )
I was thinking, or rather hoping that I would see some kind of reference to the js file I added using
enqueue referenced in the header tag , and I don't.fotodog13ParticipantHmmm- had a feeling you might say that- was hoping that there was another solution but have a feeling that in the long run thats probably the best one
thanks again

Scott Vfotodog13ParticipantHey Brad- thanks so much for your reply - this seemed to solve the problem for me with the home page.
I do have another question- thats somewhat related to this same issue- hoping that I can get a bit more input on this from you.I installed the following plugin
http://strategy11.com/display-widgets/so that I could toggle these b1,b2,b3 widgets on/off on certain pages without having to recreate a bunch of unique sidebars, and code ( coding as you can tell is not my strongest suit- but you have to start some where- slowly but surely )
I have started to notice that the alignment for the widgets middle-widget-b1, middle-widget-b2,middle-widget-b3 can vary depending on the length and type of the page being displayed.
If you look at the bottom of these 2 pages ( make a difference box, and the sign up email box ) and look at the space between the 2 boxes you will see what I mean.
http://69.195.124.163/~aielloho/plumbing-service-repair/
and
http://69.195.124.163/~aielloho/home-air-conditioning-repair-service-and-installation/I am wondering if there is a way to "easily" correct this through the functions.php file
When I look at that file I see the hook is being called as
add_action( ‘genesis_after_content’, ‘genesis_middle_widget_b2′ );I have tried changing this to " before_ footer" with no luck.
My thinking was if the middle_widget_b1,b2,b3 were either part of the " content inner"
or if they were " wrapped"
within a div id- I might be able to have better control over the styling of them so that all of the pages appear similarHope the above makes sense- and I did not just confuse the heck out of you. Would love any insight you might have on this
thanks

PS- big fan of your site "http://wpsites.net/bradley-james-dalton-wordpress-developer/" - its a big help
fotodog13ParticipantHi Davinder- thanks for the reply but that did not seem to work , but I have been working on it more and am getting closer-
I have been able to add a second set of widgets and they display perfectly on the inside pages - but cannot get them to display correctly on the Metric Home page.
If I could remove the new set from appearing on the home page now I think that I would be all set.
Here is what I have in my functions.php file now- * adding this puts the widgets on all pages of the web site but I cannot get the styling to work for them on the Home page-
genesis_register_sidebar( array(
'id' => 'middle-widget-b1',
'name' => __( 'Middle-Widget-B1', 'metric' ),
'description' => __( 'This is the set of widgets directly above the footer widgets', 'metric' ),
) );
/**
* @author Brad Dalton - WP Sites
* @example http://wpsites.net/web-design/feature-box-genesis-home-page/
*/
add_action( 'genesis_after_content', 'genesis_middle_widget_b1' );
function genesis_middle_widget_b1() {
if (is_active_sidebar('middle-widget-b1' ) ) {
genesis_widget_area( 'middle-widget-b1', array(
'before' => '<div class="middle-widget-b1" class="widget-area">',
'after' => '</div>',
) );}}
genesis_register_sidebar( array(
'id' => 'middle-widget-b2',
'name' => __( 'Middle-Widget-B2', 'metric' ),
'description' => __( 'This is the middle set of widgets directly above the footer widgets ib row b', 'metric' ),
) );
/**
* @author Brad Dalton - WP Sites
* @example http://wpsites.net/web-design/feature-box-genesis-home-page/
*/
add_action( 'genesis_after_content', 'genesis_middle_widget_b2' );
function genesis_middle_widget_b2() {
if (is_active_sidebar( 'middle-widget-b2' ) ) {
genesis_widget_area( 'middle-widget-b2', array(
'before' => '<div class="middle-widget-b2" class="widget-area">',
'after' => '</div>',
) );}}
genesis_register_sidebar( array(
'id' => 'middle-widget-b3',
'name' => __( 'Middle-Widget-B3', 'metric' ),
'description' => __( 'This is the middle set of widgets directly above the footer widgets ib row b far right', 'metric' ),
) );
/**
* @author Brad Dalton - WP Sites
* @example http://wpsites.net/web-design/feature-box-genesis-home-page/
*/
add_action( 'genesis_after_content', 'genesis_middle_widget_b3' );
function genesis_middle_widget_b3() {
if (is_active_sidebar( 'middle-widget-b3' ) ) {
genesis_widget_area( 'middle-widget-b3', array(
'before' => '<div class="middle-widget-b3" class="widget-area">',
'after' => '</div>',
) );}}
My thinking is that another Hook could be added below this in the functions php file that would prevent these widgets from appearing on the home page. Any thoughts on how that might be done?
Thanks again for your initial help- even though it did not work for me I greatly appreciate it

Scott VOctober 30, 2013 at 12:40 pm in reply to: sandbox responsive menu – or ANY nice responsive menu #69953fotodog13Participantheres another site I did that has a mobile menu that works well. I agree the menus are nowhere near what people would expect to see for a mobile based site. While most of the themes being pushed can be considered responsive, I have yet to see any that studiopress has done, or upgraded to be " responsive" that have attempted to even addressing the menu issue.
fotodog13ParticipantHey Brad,
Thanks for the reply I get what you are saying the Home page loop is deactivated when you pull a widget into it.What I am wondering is if I make a set posts - Post 1,2,3 - why these would appear on the home page of the site if no widget is pulled into the " Home Top " widget area.
Even if I publish the post- shouldn't the post remain off the home page and the " default message " appear unless a widget is placed in the appropriate front page widget area.
If I look at the custom settings - for this I see that there are 2 options with this theme- a Static home page- not want I want, and one that shows post-
If posts is selected then it says that posts are automatically added to the home page-
It seems that once you make a new post and publish it even if you have not configured any widgets it over-writes the default message from the loop and places the post on the home page.I have used this theme fairly frequently ( prior to this new and improved? ) version and have not had this happen before.
Hope above makes sense- any other thoughts
( Not saying it isn't there but not really seeing anything in the download guide that mentions this )Best
Scott Vfotodog13ParticipantAbout the css- I had issues overwriting my woocommerce css as well. I found that I had to put the overwrite css at the top of my child css in order for it to work.
If I put the overwrite css at the bottom of the normal css sheet ( before the media queries, or color theme css ) then the overwrite css did not work at all. No idea why this would be the case, but it is.
I looked at the code I sent you again using firebug as my guide and those changes did work.
The site I am working on for a client is using woo commerce as a catalog only site, they don't want to sell on line, which means I have to strip a lot of the woo commerce features out.
Right now I have the site cloaked but here's a temporary link to show you what the site ( still rough) looks like now
http://www.jnamnoun.com/product-category/antique-area-rugsNo matter how you look at it- the learning curve is super high on woocommerce and very frustrating.
fotodog13Participanthey Stepheniryna,
Hope this is a help not all the answers but seem to work when I look at them in firebug
assuming this is the category page:
http://goldbuyersupplier.com/?product_cat=digital-scalescolor: #333333;
font-family: 'Droid Sans',sans-serif;
font-size: 16px;
}
.term-descriptionfor description at the top of the page try this
add
.term-description
color: #333333;
font-family: 'Droid Sans',sans-serif;
font-size: 16px;
}think that will fix the description issie
1b-
you can try adding some padding to the bottom of the above css to give you the space you
are looking for but it might be better to try this instead.add this to your chid css
.woocommerce .woocommerce-result-count, .woocommerce-page .woocommerce-result-count {
float: left;
margin: 2em 0 1em;
}* the margin#2 will push the product box down and the results info as well-
think it might be a better solution for you.2 . no clue why you should need a plugin - this is probably controlled by the
functions php file
heres a link that explains how to solve that issue
http://kb.oboxsites.com/knowledgebase/how-to-change-the-number-of-related-products-in-woocommerce-themes/* this should be your child functions.php file - not the woocommerce file
make sure you have a backup of the file before you change the functions.php.3. I think #2 may solve this issue as well
4. no clue- I think it might be that you are adding the text as a " caption" and you
need to add it some other way.5. price slider
try adding this to the child css
this is for the filter price slider -background: -moz-linear-gradient(center top , #000000 0%, #4D4D4D 100%) repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);
border-radius: 1em 1em 1em 1em;
margin-top: 10px;
}6. the product search info is controlled by the product form- could not see how to change that
7. the bold blue text- link- looks to be a H3 tag- not sure what the inside admin looks
like you maybe able to add a div class and style it to your liking or you could try this
add the below to your child theme css..woocommerce ul.products li.product h3, .woocommerce-page ul.products li.product h3 {
font-size: 14px;
margin: 0;
padding: 0.5em 0;
}It will change the font size - keeping the color the same because it is a link- if you
want to change the link color you need to style that separately but seems to me you
might want to keep that blue so people know it is a link. not just text.* Make sure that you have back up copies of your original css and functions php before you try any of the above.
I am working on a woo commerce catalog site and while it might be a good cart I think that support and directions that they provide SUCK - they seem to only be interested in selling stuff.
I have been all over the web trying to figure out how to implement it into my theme ( agency pro ) and everything I read about woo commerce says the same thing - it always needs a lot of modification, the support sucks, but the product is good for what it does.fyi - I am using the genesis woo commerce plugin to integrate woo commerce into my genesis theme and that part worked pretty well for a non- programmer like me
hope the above helps

Scott Vfotodog13ParticipantSlider looks to be working fine to me -
fotodog13ParticipantHey Gary,
Sorry for the slow response here- I fired the hardrive on one of my computers so I have been dealing with that -
I tried what you have suggested above but did not work on this site- heres the code I usedli#menu-item-259 a:hover,
li#menu-item-259 a:active {
background-color: #5dc5a9;}
added to the above style sheet, below any of the current nav options on the style sheet
* also tried it at the very bottom- last item on the style sheet.- no difference.When I look at this in firebug- After I have added the code to my css file- when I look at the site in Firebug- I do not see the css code
li#menu-item-256 a:hover,
li#menu-item-2596 a:active {
background-color: #5dc5a9;}
showing up in firebug anywhere, even though I have added the above infants to the style sheet.
See it here
prestigecustomcycleswestchester.com
(css style sheet code- line 1254)I also tried the below thinking maybe it would work- but did not.
#nav li#menu-item-256 a:hover,
#nav li#menu-item-2596 a:active {
background: #5dc5a9;* I tried your sample on a different site - also genesis and was able to get it to work on that site correctly -
so have no clue as to why it is not working on this site- when I look at in firebug I do not see my code
added anywhereAny other thoughts on this - driving me crazy?

Scott Vfotodog13ParticipantHi Gary ,
Thanks for responding to this post.
I did not get this figured out- but had to make the site live for now. so I moved it
here is the live address.
http://prestigecustomcycleswestchester.com/I am trying to add a tab to the navbar that has a different background color when you hit that tab. I had to keep the pages I am trying to build off the site for now until I could figure out how to do this.
but
if you look at the current site image if you were to go the tab called " Motorcycle Service Work" it would hover to a different color, and the subpages ( dropdown) would show as a different color.I am trying to accomplish that with a new tab I am trying to add to the end of the current nav tabs- after " Motorcycle Service Technicians"
I have tried adding something like this
#menu-item-267 a:hover, #menu-item-267 a:active {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #5DC5A9 !important;
}to my style sheet - thinking that the page ( 267) would then show that tab with a different background- hover and active setting but had no luck.
Hope the above to what I am trying to do makes some kind of sense- you love to figure out what I need to do in order to accomplish this so I can add these new pages to the site
Thanks again for taking the time

Scott Vfotodog13Participantchrisman- thanks for posting this- worked like a charm for me.
fotodog13Participantcs-
I am not seeing that on my iphone (4gs and 5) however I do not see the 3 horizontal bars that would normally open and shut the menu- appearing at all. I do see your search tool on the right side of the menu and its pretty sweet how you got that in there, but not seeing those horizontal bars at all. FYI the menu and the site seem to work fine to me on my devices.I am using the same menu on my testsite ( http://beaphotoninja.com/testsite ) and got it working but its bringing the menu in the open or expanded position- any ideas as to what would cause that? anyone?
IAugust 16, 2013 at 4:42 pm in reply to: sandbox responsive menu – or ANY nice responsive menu #56927fotodog13ParticipantI tried Brads on the agency theme and got it close but could not get it to look as good as the Sandbox menu- so
I downloaded the sandbox theme and compared that file with the one I had on my agency theme.
I have been able to get the sandbox menu working almost perfectly on my agency theme -
the only sticking point I have to figure out right now is the menus come in open- rather than closed on the mobile versions.
* They come in closed on the mobile versions on the sandbox theme menu.FYI - so far this was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be- I am not a programmer by any means- no just enough to get by, and have had some great help from people in the forums here.
If you want to see the sandbox menu on the agency theme ( modified ) you can see what I am doing here
http://beaphotoninja.com/testsiteHope its a help - still working on it
fotodog13ParticipantHey Tony,
Just getting this now-
Finally got it working - you are the best my friend.I made changes you suggested ( again ) cleared my cache- rebooted the computer and checked it in Chrome - and saw it working- then went to firefox and now see it working there.
* it does not seem to work if I create a style option in the menu>admin section.css options.
it now works on the style sheet if I load it manually ( finally ) - not sure why, don't really care as long as it works - moving on.Admittedly I am not the sharpest pencil in the box at times, but can hold my own on much of the stuff so you can imagine how frustrating this was getting me.
Thanks again - brought my sanity back to me - need to find someone in the forums I can play this big help you have given me here forward to - its really really appreciated 🙂
Thanks
Scott V
fotodog13Participanthey Tony
Thanks for the reply
Yup tried that - added it to the style sheet there- and not being recognized - no idea why- just stumping me
also looked at the source in firebug and tried to set the css on the style sheet that way - with no results either
so you can see why I am so frustratedScott V
fotodog13ParticipantHi Anitac,
Thanks for your reply, but... I tried your suggestion enabled screen options >checked CSS> added a class to my style sheet- but when I look in firebug I do not see the class I created listed. It is showing the default created by the menu presets established by wordpress.
it looks like it is something that it is non- editable?I am not sure that I am explaining what i am trying to do correctly because when I look at firebug it looks to me like it is an id not a class that controls the area I am trying to change.
This is what I am trying to do- when you look at the last tab on the menu bar ( Vespa) you will see that the hover goes to a different color - when the submenu drops down on the hover I am trying to change the background color on those pages only.
according to firebug - that area looks like it is controlled by
#nav li li a, #nav li li a:link, #nav li li a:visitedI have tried many many things to try and change this but not having any luck- nothing I add or do seems to allow the change to be recognized or seen when I go to firebug.
example I tried
#menu-item-260 nav li li a, #menu-item-260 nav li li a:link, #menu-item-260 nav li li a:visited {
background: #ff00ff!important; }also tried
#menu-item-260 {
background:#ff00ff!important;
}
and
.vespa { background:#ff00ff!important;}Any other thoughts on how to do what I am trying to do? does not seem it should be that difficult a thing to do- but admittedly I am still a newbie ( frustrated ) when it comes to things like this .
Bet
