Thank you. That helped, but it's still happening at certain breakpoints above tablet width. Very strange. The same issue is happening on my other WP website. I guess the best solution for now is to adjust the browser width when viewing the All Posts in the dashboard.
December 10, 2017 at 1:13 pm in reply to: Genesis Dashboard Posts responsive table display messed up #214451faithMemberNo, it's not a plugin; it's just what I said - the dashboard - the backend admin area. Click on all posts and the posts are displayed in a table with column headings Title, Author, Categories, Tags, Stats, etc.
June 4, 2017 at 5:23 pm in reply to: Where to credit photographer on photo that's in the Soliloquy Slider #207335faithMemberThank you. That's what I did. I just had to change the styling to make the text display in small font, and in the bottom right corner .
faithMemberI contacted the author of the theme, and she told me to use text widgets instead of Genesis Featured Page widgets if I want to have more control over the content that is displaying under the image. That worked! For whatever reason, the Featured Page widget rounds the number of characters up or down.
faithMemberI don't want to embed it on the site, just link to it. So I did FTP it to the uploads directory, and that worked.
Thank youfaithMemberI installed the plugin, and when I click on the Upload Document option to upload the 3.6 MG xls document (the max allowable is 8MG), I get a message that says, "Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons."
faithMemberThank you Christoph.
faithMemberThank you again!
faithMemberThanks Brad. Restrict Content Pro costs $99/yr for the basic personal plan. Restrict Content is free. I hope it will suffice. Still not sure if I need a SSL certificate or not, for selecting and paying for a membership level. How is the SSL certificate added to the site? In the footer? In a widget? As you can see, I'm new to the ecommerce side of things.
faithMemberThank you Brad and Victor! I want it to be as simple as possible - and free. So I think it will be S2Member or Paid Memberships Pro. Because these plugins will integrate with a payment gateway, does the Client need to purchase a SSL Certificate for me to put in the footer of their site?
faithMemberThank you Andykev!
December 29, 2016 at 11:07 am in reply to: How to update to Genesis 2.4.2 manually AFTER I updated to WordPress 4.7. #198433faithMemberI fixed it! I went to Genesis > Theme Settings, and checked "Enable Automatic Updates" and clicked Saved Settings. Then the "Genesis 2.4.2 is available" notification appeared at the top.
February 16, 2016 at 8:39 pm in reply to: Combine text and font awesome icon inside of search form input box #179204faithMemberOh wow that worked! Thank you SOOO much Victor. I also found out how to style the button (font awesome icon). First I put a position: relative on the .search-form. Then, I did this.....
input[type="submit"] {
border: 0;
color:#efe9dd;
display:inline-block;
font-family: 'FontAwesome';
font-size:20px;
padding:0;
background-color:transparent;
position: absolute;
left: 170px;
top:10px;
}faithMemberThanks again Victor. I did actually find another solution. First I added a Search Form to the widget. Then I installed a plugin called "SearchAutocomplete". In the Settings, I changed the Search Field Selector to name = "#s".
faithMemberThank you Victor. However, I need the user to be able to enter their desired city in the field, so it's not just a drop down select menu. Do you know where I can find out how to do that?
ThanksfaithMemberThanks Jess for your reply! That is a great option. I wanted to try out another option too, and it worked as well. Here it is for anyone else who needs to know... https://wpbeaches.com/create-middle-header-widget-genesis-child-theme/
faithMemberHa! I found out the problem. Apparently my host provider Bluehost just set it up on their end for all wordpress core files, themes and plugins to be automatically updated - without notifying me. So I turned those settings to OFF.
October 14, 2015 at 12:47 pm in reply to: Can Coming Soon mode prevent sharing of Post on FB? #168151faithMemberI had problems even after disabling the Coming soon mode....until I found the answer here....
Get Facebook to actually use your featured image
http://bluetaildesigns.com/facebook-vs-your-featured-image/October 14, 2015 at 12:40 pm in reply to: Decor Featured Image – How to vertical align img to top #168149faithMemberI figured out how to fix this. WordPress crops the middle of the Featured Image no matter what the height and width are. So first, in functions.php I increased the height of the post-image; then I activated the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin; and last of all, for any pictures which still look funny, I clicked on them in the Media Library, clicked on 'Edit Image', then cropped and saved the image.
I hope this helps anyone else having the same problem.
faithMemberI found one, and it works great! It's called Easy Social Icons.
