That worked. Thanks so much.
EricHiltonParticipantThat worked, thanks. That was a very easy fix.
EricHiltonParticipantThat worked. Thanks.
EricHiltonParticipantHi Erika,
Thanks for your advice. It's actually not a static front page, it's set to "Your latest posts" in the Reading Settings. The Balance theme displays the posts like that on the homepage, with the latest post at the top of the page with no columns and then the second latest on down in two columns. The box at the top is an option on the Balance theme.
The Balance theme demo (https://demo.studiopress.com/balance/?_ga=2.39036199.566563666.1521092861-28260868.1521092861) shows the top post as an excerpt with a "continue reading" link. I haven't been able to find a way to control the number of characters shown in the top post. It just displays the full post.

Is there any way I can make just the image slightly opaque so that the font is easier to read?
EricHiltonParticipantThat worked perfectly. Thanks a lot.
EricHiltonParticipantI didn't make any modifications. Actually, you can see in the demo that the banner isn't responsive. They've just used an image that looks O.K. on any screen size.
