I would say it is the slider's navigation arrows creating the gap in responsive mode. You could look to see if there is a setting to disable the arrows in responsive mode.

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberI am not really sure what that is, but you do have access to the head section by going to Genesis->Theme Settings->Header Scripts. This area is typically used for things like javascript tracking codes.
If it is some type of script file, you may want to use wp_enqueue_script to add it via your theme's functions.php file.

No problem David. We must have been in the middle of replying at the same time.

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberI think it is because the gallery image is positioned absolute, and it is positioned lower in the page. So it has a higher stacking order than the site-header. Giving the site-header a z-index of 1 or higher should fix it. See example below.
.site-header { z-index: 1; }

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberI typically use the Genesis Simple Edits plugin to modify the footer in case changes need to be added later. It prevents the need to modify the theme.
You are missing the closing bracket for your function.
Your image likely isn't showing due to the bloginfo() function. Since you need the value for use in the php, you would want to use get_bloginfo('template_url'). You can also use get_stylesheet_directory_uri().
Additionally, since you are trying to reference an image located in the theme directory, you would not be referencing the uploads folder.So if you are trying to reference an image stored in an image folder within your theme folder, it might look something like the following:
remove_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_do_footer' ); add_action( 'genesis_footer', 'sp_custom_footer' ); function sp_custom_footer() { ?> <p>© 2016 · Privacy Policy · website by xxx · <a href="http://linkedin.com"> <img src="<?php echo get_stylesheet_directory_uri(); ?>/images/linkedin24px.png" alt="LinkedIn" /> </a></p> <?php }

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberNo problem. The difference between WordPress.org and WordPress.com can be confusing. You sometimes land on the wrong site when looking for information.
The Executive Pro theme will automatically render the portfolio items via the archive post type template - http://www.yoursite.com/portfolio
You only need a shortcode if you are trying to pull the portfolio items into a standard page and/or manipulate the output in certain ways. In which case you could create a custom shortcode that renders a custom query. You can also manipulate the display via the archive templates.

Have a good weekend.

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberSorry braddalton. I didn't realize there was already a reply.
Doug Edgington
http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberI see that you are using the Executive Pro Theme. There is no portfolio shortcode associated with this theme. Are you using a plugin to create the shortcode, or did you create the shortcode yourself?

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberIf you are trying to align both buttons to the right together, you would want to use the text-align property. You could add the property to a paragraph tag. See example below.
<p style="text-align: right;"><a class="button" href="/altitude/#front-page-7">Sign Up Now</a> <a class="button clear white" href="/altitude/#front-page-2">Learn More</a></p>
If you are having trouble singling out a button for style purposes such as color, you could give each button a new class.
<p><a class="button left-button" href="/altitude/#front-page-7">Sign Up Now</a> <a class="button clear white right-button" href="/altitude/#front-page-2">Learn More</a></p> .left-button { background-color: red; } .right-button { background-color: yellow; }

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberA link can reside over top of a background image. Can you provide a link to the page that contains the background image you are referring to?
Doug Edgington
http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberSo you are wanting it to stay posited at the top like a fixed header. You will have to position the below-header section fixed at the top of the page. See example below.
.before-header { position: fixed; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; z-index: 1000; }
Some items will now be hidden by the below-header section, since it is now using fixed positioning. So you would need to push items down - a height equivalent to the height of the below-header section. You can do this by applying a margin or padding to the site-header or below-header sections. Or you can set some type of bumper after the below header section.
You will also have to do something to compensate for the admin bar for logged in users. Something like the following:
.admin-bar .below-header { top: 32px; }

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberI assume you are trying to create some type of sticky message that hangs at the top once the user scrolls down. Brian Gardner has a great tutorial on how to set this up: http://briangardner.com/genesis-sticky-message/

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberOpen the page editor for a page that you are having issues with. Click on "Text" view rather than "Design" view. This will allow you to see any inline styles added the content. These are styles that a user may have added when adding content to a page or post.
Doug Edgington
http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberInline styles are applied directly to an elements tag using a style attribute. And they will override embedded or external CSS. So they will override the theme styling. So the site likely has inline styles declared within the text editor. See example below. You would need to remove these inline styles to prevent them from overriding the theme's styling.
<a style="color:#000;" href="#">Link name</a>

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberNo problem. I was surprised by the setting also. Pretty nice feature.
I didn't read it in the documentation either. I noticed a conditional statement in the front-page template. Then I realized it was using a setting.
Doug Edgington
http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberI don't know a lot about this theme, but It appears that this theme has a setting to turn off the front page blog. See if that does the trick.
Go to Appearance-->Customize-->Front Page Content Settings-->Front Page Content Section Display and select "Hide content section".
Doug Edgington
http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberThe reason you have a blank space is because the welcome message is positioned relative at a negative 680px. This is causing an empty space at the bottom. I assume you added this additional styling yourself.
welcome-message { position: relative; top: -680px; margin: 0 auto; z-index: 200; }
I think blog posts will appear at the bottom of the home page with this particular theme. You can remove them by adding the following line of code to a front-page.php template. Or should be able to add it to the conditional statement that outputs the welcome message.
//* Remove the default Genesis loop remove_action( 'genesis_loop', 'genesis_do_loop' );

http://www.dougedgington.comDoug EdgingtonMemberThis is a community forum. Support for StudioPress themes is now handled via tickets. And support for community themes is handled by the theme developer.
http://www.studiopress.community/topic/official-support-versus-community-support/The Showcase Pro theme appears to be a community theme, so you would get support from the theme developer. From your StudioPress downloads area, go to "Theme Setup" for the showcase theme. And you should see a "Submit a Ticket" link toward the top of the page. This will allow you to submit a ticket to get support for the Showcase Pro theme.
