ParticipantYes, um, I cited you in that initial post!...and yes, I used Toolset Types to create the CPT, as mentioned as well. Toolset should not be a problem: as noted, comments do appear on a non-Genesis theme with that CPT.
Many thanks,
Jim P.

ParticipantDid you get a resolution to this problem? I have the same problem on certain sites after update to Genesis parent latest (2.2.6)...

ParticipantYes, we did it via plugin; many use WP https plugin, but we used SSL Insecure Content Fixer.
Btw, the error was not systematic enough for us to correct via code; some images loaded securely, others didn't. The above catches all that attempt to load insecurely.

ParticipantDave, appreciate the response. I checked into Media File Renamer, and it only renames the actual file name slug, not its entire URL path.
Upon a few tests, the problem seems to persist whether you switch out the featured image or create a new, duplicate featured post, which is weird...been very hard tracing why I have only two insecure image errors and not six, as six posts are included.
Perhaps if I could get info as to how the Genesis - Featured Posts widget creates the URL for each post when Show Featured Image is checked?
Many thanks,
Jim P.

ParticipantSorry for my belated reply; I didn't receive the followup via email. Yes, I pasted the below at the very bottom of the child theme functions.php. Happy to help further diagnose, and many thanks.

ParticipantAh, also happening for a (single) background image on a Minimum Pro site (we have 3.0.1)...is this indeed a Genesis issue, or a WordPress background image issue? Yet looks like our sites running on e.g. Beautiful Pro don't have this problem insecurely loading their background image, so I'm assuming it's with certain Genesis child themes offering customized images.

ParticipantOkay, thanks. Yes, Genesis as parent theme definitely gets updated. But each StudioPress child theme has a version number and "Updated:" date next to it on my download page; are you sure these are not getting updated?

Jim P.
